@XBlade132 It's not about the rating really, it's the current awful "creative" team who don't know how to put together storylines. The only thing *I* don't like about the current pg rating (which is different than it was in the past) is that there's less intensity and passion. You don't need to cuss and stuff to have an entertaining engaging promo, but you DO need real passion and energy in promos, which I feel is glaringly missing from today (other than a handful of people).

Promoters used to hand out signs at the gate and plant em in the audience for the camera
Its a shame where the world of wrestling has gone...Vince is comepletly ruining the sport...somebody needs to do something man. All the freedom in wrestling is gone, everything is so child based and I hate it...Vince dont relize that all these same kids are gonna grow up and hate wreslting when they reach their teens because of how it is.
Wrestling back in ym day had something for everbody to enjoy from technical matches to gimmick matches to hardcore matches, everything was not just kids.
You know the thing is wrestling back in like the territory days was family friendly but still had great matches and blood and heated rivalries.But Vince has said numerous times that he's not in the wrestling business he's in the entertainment business, and he's not catering to children he's catering to the advertisers who invest in the show.
While that is a very good point, he has to realize that THIS IS WRESTLING. People want wrestling action, which is why we watched WWF WCW and ECW cause it was wrestling at its finest with a touch of drama and hardcore action. Now its pure drama and some crap matches put together. if we wanted entertainment we would just watch another program on TV. It was more entertaining when they didnt stress entertainment so much. Even the wrestlers seem to go thru the motion in matches and dont go all out.
Wrestling at it's best is in Japan, the thing is they really have no incentive to improve the product when A. people will watch whatever they put on, and B. the investors are happy. Even the whole guest host concept was devised to appease one of the heads of the USA network as she wanted ratings boosts. So Vince doesn't pander to the 18-34 demographic anymore and he probably never will.
And exactly I agree which is why i dont watch WWE anymore and I wish many people would just watch TNA instead so WWE, USA & Sci-Fi can see that people do not like their current product and it need a change.
Wrestling should be like it used to be back when the 9-10 hour was a bit more all around while the 10-11 hour was where most of the mature action happens. Directing it towards a specific set of fans always messes it up for half the fans

I agree I stopped watching TNA on a regular basis since Christian and Angle came and pretty much took over and AJ Styles became CC's bitch. When I seen Shark Boy acting like Ausitn I said this is the last straw, TNA needs to stop. I didnt watch a full episode since, ony thing I watch sometime is the main event around the 10:30 mark. They re-use WWF stoyrlines and it sucks.
But TNA did have better matches than WWE did since 07 and if more people watch TNA, WWE will get thier act back together
See that's exactly why I couldn't stand watching TNA because they rip off WWE storylines and try to compete with them when they aren't even in their league.Usually anyone who comes over from WWE gets their title within a month, don't know what's taking Matt Morgan so long but I'm sure he'll get it. They did all these things to try and boos the ratings yet it failed. Another problem is you can never el who's face and who's heel as the audience cheers for both.

WWE is just as bad, with this tired ass draft its hard to keep with superstars and tag teams can never stay together, things are so confusin around Post WM time. If there are fans with no cable and their favorite gets draft to Raw it will suck for them. Back in the days SD was more of a non-cable way in wrestling as you would always get the rundown and continuation from Raw
Yeah that's another reason I hated the brand split I didn't have cable so I couldn't see the guys I wanted to when they first started it. After the draft and stuff things usually settle down for a whole year so it's not like TNA where one week someones a face the next they're a heel or they're a heel and getting cheered or one week there's a storyline for so and so and then the next it's over. Atleast WWE has consistent storylines and is easier to follow
The biggest reason TNA doesn't have a bigger fanbase is really because of advertising. I watched a marathon of last season's Ultimate Fighter. In the 10 or so hours it was on, I saw 5 TNA commercials. USA will probably have a RAW commercial on at least twice a day. SyFy probably has one two or three times a day. I don't know about MyNetwork. The only reason I watch that is for SD! Other than that reason, TNA is doing all the things WWE isn't.
Exactly Nash and Angle have said in interviews that people come up to them and ask them what they're doing now and it's frustrating because nobody knows about TNA because they don't advertise. You're right TNA is doing all the things WWE isn't but they're also trying to copy them what with the wrestlers gimmicks and now their deal with playboy.
Hmm....that why TNA really needs a fanbase and most of the time people don't bother watching it because of lack of advertising. I don't watch TNA so i don't know what going on with it. Booker want to go back to WWE because of TNA Bad booking. i don't what with kurt now he seems not liking WWE now.
They're starting to push their younger stars into main event status, instead of Angle & Co. running roughshod over the locker room like they did last and earlier this year. That's the reason Booker wants to go back to WWE. They, by and far, have the better women's division. They aren't afraid of blood, as evidenced by the iMPACT! from a couple of weeks ago. Personally, I think if Cena goes over to SD!, I will seriously call iMPACT! the best all-around wrestling show between TNA and WWE.
Well you can go on WWE universe, you can save an image of WWF logo, you can create a group called "WWF universe" you can put your usual stuff in it and thats the WWF universe created.
i downloaded the theme a long time ago on kazaa under the name "smackdown 2000 theme". it is a wwf in-house production theme like most of the superstar entrance themes during this time (and even today). the theme song was probably written by jim johnson but the performer is unknown.
thats what i used to think right after the marilyn manson "beautiful people" era where they changed the theme song to some unknown rap song "i want it all" but kept the fist stage and never ever used a ramp (which bothered the hell out of me). but i stopped thinking that way because if they did bring it back, then it would be tainted by today's wwe and ruin the memories. it would still be fun if they brought it back for only special occasions. like once a year.
Yeah...seeing as how SD's 10th anniversary is this month it would be nice if they use the classic 5 ring ovaltron for that one night only and bring back the attitude stars.

Yeah that's retarded I read sites where some signs get confiscated for stupid shit. Like anti Cena signs aren't allowed even if it's just the word Cena with a circle and a line through it. I read where a sign that said Matt Hardy fears work rate was taken and RIP Chris Benoit signs aren't allowed. I think you should be able to bring any sign you want since you're paying for the show. Promoters used to hand out signs at the gate and plant em in the audience for the camera

Wrestling back in ym day had something for everbody to enjoy from technical matches to gimmick matches to hardcore matches, everything was not just kids.

You know the thing is wrestling back in like the territory days was family friendly but still had great matches and blood and heated rivalries.But Vince has said numerous times that he's not in the wrestling business he's in the entertainment business, and he's not catering to children he's catering to the advertisers who invest in the show.

While that is a very good point, he has to realize that THIS IS WRESTLING. People want wrestling action, which is why we watched WWF WCW and ECW cause it was wrestling at its finest with a touch of drama and hardcore action. Now its pure drama and some crap matches put together. if we wanted entertainment we would just watch another program on TV. It was more entertaining when they didnt stress entertainment so much. Even the wrestlers seem to go thru the motion in matches and dont go all out.

Wrestling at it's best is in Japan, the thing is they really have no incentive to improve the product when A. people will watch whatever they put on, and B. the investors are happy. Even the whole guest host concept was devised to appease one of the heads of the USA network as she wanted ratings boosts. So Vince doesn't pander to the 18-34 demographic anymore and he probably never will.

Wrestling should be like it used to be back when the 9-10 hour was a bit more all around while the 10-11 hour was where most of the mature action happens. Directing it towards a specific set of fans always messes it up for half the fans

They finally gave Styles the title though so maybe they're going in the right direction now but for a while they were horrible and unwatchable. I agree I stopped watching TNA on a regular basis since Christian and Angle came and pretty much took over and AJ Styles became CC's bitch. When I seen Shark Boy acting like Ausitn I said this is the last straw, TNA needs to stop. I didnt watch a full episode since, ony thing I watch sometime is the main event around the 10:30 mark. They re-use WWF stoyrlines and it sucks.
But TNA did have better matches than WWE did since 07 and if more people watch TNA, WWE will get thier act back together

See that's exactly why I couldn't stand watching TNA because they rip off WWE storylines and try to compete with them when they aren't even in their league.Usually anyone who comes over from WWE gets their title within a month, don't know what's taking Matt Morgan so long but I'm sure he'll get it. They did all these things to try and boos the ratings yet it failed. Another problem is you can never el who's face and who's heel as the audience cheers for both.

WWE is just as bad, with this tired ass draft its hard to keep with superstars and tag teams can never stay together, things are so confusin around Post WM time. If there are fans with no cable and their favorite gets draft to Raw it will suck for them. Back in the days SD was more of a non-cable way in wrestling as you would always get the rundown and continuation from Raw

Yeah that's another reason I hated the brand split I didn't have cable so I couldn't see the guys I wanted to when they first started it. After the draft and stuff things usually settle down for a whole year so it's not like TNA where one week someones a face the next they're a heel or they're a heel and getting cheered or one week there's a storyline for so and so and then the next it's over. Atleast WWE has consistent storylines and is easier to follow

The biggest reason TNA doesn't have a bigger fanbase is really because of advertising. I watched a marathon of last season's Ultimate Fighter. In the 10 or so hours it was on, I saw 5 TNA commercials. USA will probably have a RAW commercial on at least twice a day. SyFy probably has one two or three times a day. I don't know about MyNetwork. The only reason I watch that is for SD! Other than that reason, TNA is doing all the things WWE isn't.

Exactly Nash and Angle have said in interviews that people come up to them and ask them what they're doing now and it's frustrating because nobody knows about TNA because they don't advertise. You're right TNA is doing all the things WWE isn't but they're also trying to copy them what with the wrestlers gimmicks and now their deal with playboy.

They're starting to push their younger stars into main event status, instead of Angle & Co. running roughshod over the locker room like they did last and earlier this year. That's the reason Booker wants to go back to WWE. They, by and far, have the better women's division. They aren't afraid of blood, as evidenced by the iMPACT! from a couple of weeks ago. Personally, I think if Cena goes over to SD!, I will seriously call iMPACT! the best all-around wrestling show between TNA and WWE.

i downloaded the theme a long time ago on kazaa under the name "smackdown 2000 theme". it is a wwf in-house production theme like most of the superstar entrance themes during this time (and even today). the theme song was probably written by jim johnson but the performer is unknown.

thats what i used to think right after the marilyn manson "beautiful people" era where they changed the theme song to some unknown rap song "i want it all" but kept the fist stage and never ever used a ramp (which bothered the hell out of me). but i stopped thinking that way because if they did bring it back, then it would be tainted by today's wwe and ruin the memories. it would still be fun if they brought it back for only special occasions. like once a year.
