yea, alcohol and other man made drugs kill people... marijuana does not. It reliefs people from stress, and other illnesses. If the goverment was to tax it, it would helop the national defficet because just about everybody smokes..... might as well tax it and have teh goverment make somemoney from it that give the money to drug dealers.... people are going to smoke it either way, might as well tax it and put that money to good use

Someone very close to me has a disease that is killing him, and it is very painful.

The pain medication the doctors gave him make him crazy, and he doesn't want to be like that, he just wants the pain gone. So he smokes marijuana, he doesn't do anything like what you think, he doesn't get behind the wheel and kill 10 people like a drunk driver would.

He just gets the rest & comfort his illness has taken from him.

Marijuana is a good drug, the government just can't tax it.

Yes there is a cure for cancer-more than one in fact.A physicist from my State cured himself in the advanced stage..My friend cured herself using the same method that actress Gloris Swanson detailed in her autobiography,"Swanson On Swanson" .I watched her do it.Yes,there are cures for cancer.I'm a witness to it.

there is no cure for cancer, there is no medicine to cure it

but you can heal yourself, its not the same as a cure which happens generally from a medicine of some kind.

there is things to be rid of it like serious exercise and eating right and sometimes radiation treatment but its still not a "cure"

Well I just looked up the definition and your right, my definition of cure is wrong.

Anyways, I read up on Gloria Swanson and from what I read it looks like what I was talking about it.

Healthy diet, exercise, motivation to live, ect.

If you consider that a cure then thats true but I consider it a way everyone should live anyways.

If people lived like that anyways there would be a significant drop in deaths I bet.

50 to 70% more carcinogens in marijuana smoke compared to tobacco smoke, far more unwanted side effects, links to an increase in certain mental diseases with studies of marijuana smokers. Its the FILTER on a cigg that brings down the carcinogen level. To compare unfiltered weed smoke with UNFILTERED cigg smoke there is almost no difference, aside from cancer wards being full of cigg smokers, NOT stoners. Another difference is Im not telling you, you cant have your cigg. You get your info from the people who profit from tobacco. Your reasoning is totally skewed. Unwanted side effects? The munchies, being mellow, and not feeling like drinking alcohol are benefits.

If drugs were legal, no one would bother smuggling them in. There would be no gang violence in the cities, either.

Gang violence always accompanies prohibition.

Think about it: without alcohol prohibition, there would have been no Al Capone in Chicago. Without prohibition of drugs and prostitution, there would be no drug dealers and pimps.

The war against these victimless crimes is what creates the economic conditions that favor gangs.

End the prohibition, and you destroy the gangs.

Then the Coast Guard could defend us from terrorists and violent criminals instead of drug importers.

Cocaine is illegal because it's extremely poisonous with no use except for pleasure.Something like weed is different but it's still poison and worse for your health than cig.There could be even more murdering than now too with wacked out people.Your replacing something with something theoretically worse.People intoxicated kill more than any other group.Coast guard guards the coast.If they are told something is coming in on a boat, they'll get it, terrorist, drug runner, godzilla.

Bleach is extremely poisonous, but it is not illegal. My point is that being poisonous is not a good reason for making something illegal. Alcohol is also poisonous in great enough quantities, but making that illegal created gangsters like Al Capone. Same thing with cocaine. Prohibition makes a bad situation worse.

Most drugs actually get past the Coast Guard. I'm not saying they are bad, I'm saying that stopping all drugs is impossible. Let the CG focus on more dangerous threats.

Laws such as the prohibition of drugs is simply the government making wise choices for you. Of course it is unwise to do drugs, it whacks you up and you do stupid stuff. Although I believe it should be up to the person to make these choices. Who is the Government to tell us how we should live our lives? this is true of most laws, I'm not saying that laws against things like murder should be taken away, just stupid stuff like what we do or don't snort.

My first two years on the Coast Guard were onboard an icebreaker and it was the best free world travel anyone could ever get. Greenland, Germany, Iceland, Australia, Antarctica, Chile, Mexico, Panama ... all in a 12 month span. We busted our asses on little projects to keep the ship shiny but it was well worth it.

I am extremely proud to be a volunteer member of this fantastic organization and to help them in their training so that they are able to do what they do best, save lives. There is no greated high than being on a boat with the helicopter rotorwash blowing all around you in both the summer and winter.
