the graphics were ALOT better on the pc....the game is the same im sure, but its worth checking out the pc version if you can...you can see much more of the city at a time, and the explosion effects are super cool!

This really really needs a PS3 version. Instead of endless COD sequels (admittedly fun, but more of the same) we need new additions to great series like G Police, Colony Wars, Syphon Filter, Medievil, etc.

Great game! these days it would be filled with bugs that need 4 or 5 patches to make it work and ' exclusive pre order' helicopters and secret levels to download for more money instead of unlocking them by playing the game. And it would of course NEED multiplayer deathmatch or the 14 year olds wouldnt get their parents to buy it for them.

@ThinBear4 yeah, especially something that lets you fly one of the enemy ships....like a leopard fighter, or a gun boat....or an autotank! i guess in that case, something that lets you swap sides, so you're fighting off the g-police instead....that'd be awesome

or something that allowed you to fire the plasma launcher as fast as the laser or cannon....just for the sheer mayhem and destruction it would let you deal....of course that would get old fast, so all in moderation ;)

@robenkk 1st one - cool idea. 2nd one - I wouldn't dare :D That would be cheap, especially with already insanely overpowered weapons, such as 1-hit-kill plasma cannon.

The best of best mods imo would be a MULTIPLAYER for G-Police! :D Something that would let you fight in teams, like hold-the-checkpoint, or CTF's. Another good idea would be a sandbox mission-editor, allowing to place destructible buildings, select your vehicle (or turret?) and generally script your mission.

@ThinBear4 Definitely a multiplayer! I've always imagined what it would be like to actually be part of an "alpha wing", and communicate between each other via head sets, and actually  coordinate an attack against human nanosoft/krakov teams, etc......*sigh* perhaps one day.

@robenkk It would be helpful if the WHOLE GAME wasn't packed up into a CD, with all files processed by god knows what archiving tool, probably designed specially for the purpose of creating this game. To edit anything we would need either a source code from Psygnosis, or some hex-editing genius with a LOT of free time.

Either or that way, if there ever will be a multiplayer mod for G-Police, I will be one of the first to get it and play it, and I will be glad to play with anybody.

@Dwoinker i discovered something that's quite cool. if you still have the original g-police cd, you can put it in a cd-player, and it'll play all the sound tracks one after the other, from the menu music to the score for the end credits, just like a regular music cd! i have the pc cd-rom though, i'm not sure if it'll work with the playstation disc. still, definitely something to try out

krakov mining droids, nanosoft gun boats and autotanks, leapord fighters and lynx fighters, and htose mobile rocket launchers were the toughest enemies. the best i could do were fly by shootings so as not to get hit....until i discovered vertical strafing :D. that made staying alive a LOT easier, and total annihilation of the opposition a bit less time consuming.

oh to see this redone and revamped for the current generation.....

@robenkk Titan gunboats (nanosoft) were hard? How about Orion gunboat? (gang ship - mission 10) This bastard was bigger, had more powerful lasers than titan, and you had to destroy it with only missiles, rockets and cannon at your disposal. All this before gang blows up Argenta's residence.

By the way, there is a trick with titan gunboat. If you fly exactly behind the gunboat, just behind its engines, it cannot hit you, while you can pummel it freely from behind :]

@ThinBear4 No way the Orion was bigger....mission 10 was just to introduce you to the awesome fire power of a gun boat. That was a baby compared to the ones you face during the missions when you're taking out nanosoft's HQ....twice as many lasers, and about three or four cannons, or so I remember.

Hmm, didn't know about that trick with the Titans....did you discover that on your own?

@robenkk It was bigger, at least than the titan. I'm not sure about the argon gunboat. And yeah, both titan and argon have more guns, but those lasers on orion hit harder imo. I don't know if it's me, or titan gunboats have less HP than orion...

Also - notice that when you had to take down titan gunboats you already have some hyper-velocity missiles, while in fight with orion you got only your stinkin' cannon, rockets and IR-missiles (and fire-streaks?).

@robenkk About the trick, yeah I figured it out on my own ^^ Careful though, since if you try to pull that off and do enough damage to get gunboat's attention, it will try to maneuver to get you in the firing range. With enough skill though you can stay in the guns' dead field.

One thing - don't try that with other gunboats. It works only with titan. Argon even has a gun point right above the engines. Other gunboats may have blind spots too, but I couldn't find them.

@ThinBear4 I see what you mean about the Orion being a tougher fight, you were not given much to take it out, I remember using up all my IR missiles, all my MATRA rockets, and the thing still wasn't dead....so had to resort to cannons for the final 10% or something of it's shields......i don't think there was even enough time to re-arm....not to mention you had those other civilian gang fighters spit-firing at you all the time.

What do you remember as the most difficult and frustrating mission?

@robenkk When I was first playing G-Police, I had to replay most missions multiple times. Hilarious to think I was stuck in... mission 3, because I didn't know english and I had no idea you had to keep in a specific distance to Rogan. I was like "wtf? why is that stupid mission failing all of a sudden?!".

Now, the worst missions I can think of were defending nanosoft research center (not enough ammo, very little time and lots of tough enemies), and reconnaissance in nanosoft HQ.

@ThinBear4 Yeah I remember my first attempts at mission 3, I was hopeless at aiming, so I was spending precious minutes trying to take out the gang fighters, and Rogan Edwards was just drifting away....I can't actually remember my hardest mission. but since I've started my walkthough now, I'm sure I'll get to it again eventually.
