The map in this video was too surreal when I played this game religiously. Spooky, freaky, and so real it felt like I was in actual combat. If Russia built a ton of tanks, planes, artillery, etc. secretly over about 3 years, they could easily topple us. We still have a lot of troops in Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan, we have the National Guard and plenty of weapons and such here but if they came at us with a surprise attack with everything they had. World in Conflict, for example, is one of the best games ever. It's not a dumbass arcade FPS, but strategy and logic is required to play. It shows both perspectives of a global conflict.

Vladimir Makarov, starts a campaign against Europe by committing acts of terrorism over the course of five years. Pvt. Allen is later sent on an undercover mission in Russia for the CIA with Makarov. Makarov knows who Allen really is, and kills him for the police to find, and blame America, because they found Allen's body. There is a lot of back story. Pay attention to the story.

@jimcoolfilms you're right. The US was a beloved ally 70 years ago, but by interfering with other countries' politics and installing dictators, the world hates the US. Europe may (may!) come to aid, but once 1 country invades the US or even attempts to, the entire arabian league, latin-american countries and half of Asia will send their support to whatever country that's invading the US.

And the first country in the world who (thinks he) represents the ideal of "equality and liberty" is the same country that does the exact opposite to gain power, wealth, dominance, etc.
It's not as much about hating the US for its power but hating it for the hypocracy. Anyways, I know that not all of you are like this and people who think otherwise are morons.

The US puts itself first and does whatever is necessary to remain powerful. As long as nothing stands in the way of US interests, yes, then the US might feel a little caring and it might help other nations. If you mean "we" as in "we the people", then this is only natural because there are good people everywhere.

Unrealistic? probably. chilling nonetheless? heck yeah.
The single player campaign is pretty meh in general, but it is like a really good, albeit thoughtless, action movie/mockumentary.

@kornholioa It could happen today too. Only thing that could not be true is Russia actually loosing that war. If they ever attacked, it would be because they are 100% stronger and sure the will win. And since Americans and Brits dared to enter Russia in CoD 4 (I know its because Russians let them help in civil war; which is also impossible btw) they should suffer the consequence: Russia destroying their armies.
