have watched a few of Arnold's videos....i appreciate the great information, sharing stories from regular people and some vendors. I also noticed Arnold interrupts the other speaker at times and they loose focus, i recommend try not doing that so much :))
Raw may be the answer for many but it's not likely an easy road. Many will be confronted with up and downs as they learn and relearn what and how to eat raw. Many will fail also and I believe few will succeed as the transition it seems is not easy. I suspect it's easier to transition if younger and more resilient. One thing I know is it, like life is a journey, and we must all make our own decisions regarding which path we are ready to take. Good information & an open mind will help you decide.
I can see how a raw diet is great to clean out,but not long term. Also been youtubing for about 6 months and Im not impressed with how people look.Something to me isn't right about this, maybe to extreme? Are there any long studies done on this? There were others that started to do raw meat and dairy after a few years of raw vegan. whats up with that? they claim it wasn't cutting the mustard
@porkyo123 If you are a bible reader read the book of Genesis and the book of Daniel. In the beginning for over 1500 years man did not eat meat only fruits, veggies, nuts and grains. In the book of Daniel there is a contest between the meat eaters and the vegetarians. If you are not a bible reader Do some research the proof is in the people out there that are living well and healthy.
@jorjeni : Yes Gen 1:29-30 God gives us plants and seeds for food but, then in Gen 9:3 God gives every moving thing. Was the reason for this change food scarcity? That's what's implied I believe but, I would say man has to some extent, depending on environment and food availability, adapted to eating animal foods. Some more than others, depending on blood type, do well on red meat while others do not and do better on fruits and veges. I'm not sure you can say there is a one size fits all diet
@porkyo123 : You know I want to try a raw diet and I eventually will. A year ago I was almost about 75% raw, but something that concerns me is the Dr. D'Adamo's Blood type Diet recommendations for my blood type. There are many staple raw foods which I can no longer eat like cabbage, oranges, bananas, coconuts, papayas, mangoes, cantaloupe any honeydew melons, tomatoes, olives, green red & yellow peppers, cashew & pistachio nuts and this might make it difficult for me.
@halopa246 I was all pumped up on the raw food at one time to. I'm a blood type O and i can have mangoe, kale, banana,so they are a highly benifical for me.I make a smoothie out of them and that's all raw.Im at a point now in my life that i say the hell with all the food gurus! tho im reading a great article on why eating meat is good for you. I also heard a long talk from a Harvard nut LOL that cooked is better. have some buffalo, fish, chicken, and green smoothies. TRUST IN GOD! an da hel w people
@porkyo123 They also no thru science now that it's all about mass index. in other words get your weight down! the expert? said it didn't matter how you got your index down to around 18% just do it .do it with raw, vegan, meat, indian, chinese, how ever just get the index down. maybe head down the gym and look at some of those healthy looking body builders and ask them how to eat. being bony does not mean health. also when you do make smoothies U break down all fiber and get a big shot of sugar.
@porkyo123 : I don't know if I agree with that, I had a co-worker who wanted to lose weight and went on the Atkins diet, she lost the weight, but later also lost part of her colon after being diagnosed with diverticulitis. Another example that there is no one size fits all diet.
As far as diverticulitis it does not have to do with meat I think. I heard when eating flour it goes into the gut and makes a paste ball then hardens and gets caught in the gut and causes problems? not an atkins fan either to extreme. why would a diet have to be all or nothing? why do we always give diet credit and not kicking butt down the gym credit or health or great energy? just had green smoothie and for desert im going to have broiled salmon with broccoli with dulse and kelp.
@porkyo123 : My wife is type O also but when she eats to much red meat it slows her digestion down. The blood type diet recommends only 2-5oz 3-5X a week which is not much. She is from the Philippines and is disappointed that the diet does not allow her to eat some of her traditional foods like banana, coconut, plantains, oranges etc. We want to work toward raw but find it hard to make the transition if we also follow the blood type diet fruit restrictions. We believe meat is ultimately.....
@halopa246 Im looking at the blood O book now and it says bananas are highly beneficial.Who knows isf dr de adamo is correct? i have to say tho all the most of the foods he says stay away from i not crazy about. i only ate avacados because i was told they are God'S butter but i can easily leave them alone. as far as your wife maybe try digestive enzymes.you have to find your way.ive been listening to health shows since 1989 and have at least 40 books on nutrition and getting rid of them.Balance!
@porkyo123 :Yes, beneficial for my wife as type O but not me as type A. Yes, I too have numerous health books, too many to count. Dr. D'Adamo's research seems like good science so I put a lot of faith into his advice, however, Dr. Doug Graham's 80-10-10 Diet also makes sense to me, it just a matter of transitioning to the point where I can give it an honest try. I agree with you as well about avocados..even too much of a good fat can be bad for you..a problem with many raw foodies I hear. Thank
@halopa246 i have a great article on meat eating from a catholic priest who is a hunter to LOL don't no if he eats meat on fridays LOL. But i don't no how to get that to you?
@porkyo123 : Thanks, I read it. I agree with what he is saying but his message should not be misconstrued to mean it's good to eat animal foods produced by modern agribusinesses. There are many cultures that thrived as vegetarians-like the Hindus-and still do, and many that thrived eating animal foods and hunting-like the plains Indians and Eskimos but these are likely adaptations that happened over many many generations which is what Dr. D"Adamo is saying, everyone cannot eat the same IMHO.
@halopa246 How are we ever going to no wht goes on in the body when we eat any form of meat? lets face it our veggies are nothing to write home about, even organic. its a shame! I have a little indian in me so i can hav a little buffalo LOL. well need to eat talk soon.Ps. for breakfast im going to have 12oz water, vanilla whey powder or rice, 2 raw eggs, maca, tsp. alfalfa powder, tsp. spirulina, tsp.cinnamon and feel great after and does not taste bad believe it or not. dont tell anyone LOL.
@porkyo123 ...ultimately more harmful than good but, we wanted to use the blood type diet as a transition and ultimately eliminate meat, gluten products and dairy however, we're frustrated by the fruit limitations. We did pretty well on a diet of veges(steamed & sauteed), meat, fish, poultry( broiled or baked), lots of fruits and green smoothies for about 10 months and eliminated aches & pains etc but, did not have enough energy on this diet. Have you read '80-10-10' by Dr. Doug Graham?
@halopa246 Wow! surprised you didn't feel good on that diet how could that go wrong? 80-10-10 diet read the book but to extreme for me,i want all bases covered. Dr. Furhman said on radio show when asked about the 80-10 diet that it was to much fruit and he sees people come in later on in life with neurological problems from to much fruit. this food stuff will drive you nuts! maybe fear of dying is at the base of all this diet stuff? you have to find your way.Good Luck.
@porkyo123 : No, that's no exactly what I said. I felt good, good because aches & pains went away. No more headaches, backaches, sore hands and feet, everything was great except had low energy and broke a sweat with very little effort. I was probably eating too much animal protien, more than recommended by Dr. D'Adamo for type A and probably more The Dr. Furhman recommends. I noticed meat and dairy are at the top of his food pyramid...meaning eat small amounts of these foods.
@porkyo123 : There are some who are 100% and looking really good, even athletes and people in their 70's. Granted many look unhealthy and those people are probably getting too much fat from nuts, seeds and avocados. My younger sister used to be thin her whole life and attended the Hippocrates Institute in Calif where you eat a high fat vegan diet. Should could not sustain this diet. After losing too much energy and gaining some weight she went off it. Raw needs to be balanced like any diet.
@halopa246 ~ Brian Clement, Hippocrates Director said in recent video here on youtube that he doesn't eat nuts/fat often or recommend it, maybe 1.x week. I'm not sure if this is something new since then
thats actually not true. People don't go to the hospital for protein deficiency. most people get too much protein. Fruits and vegetables can provide you all of the protein you need. Do a little research you will be surprised. Countries with little to no meat consumption are much healthier, have lower obesity rates, and live much longer livers. Thats not a coincidence.
"Countries with little to no meat consumption are much healthier, have lower obesity rates, and live much longer lives."
Which countries, and what are the statistics to back this assertion up? The Japanese live longer than Americans - but not THAT much longer, and they do eat a lot of seafood.
Where else? Certainly not China, with high rates of TB, smoking, environmental polution and bad water.
Many amino acids are not available from greens. It's true that greens, tofu, brown rice, beans, etc. are excellent sources. Many people can survive just fine without meat. However, there are people who are unable to process the amino acids in such plant-products as efficiently as meat. It doesn't take a lot, but SOME meat is essential to some people.
The Japanese eat a whole lot of pork. Fish is consumed more by those living on the coasts, but they eat more pork than anything else.
@bixntram Dont blame the grass fed meat blame all the SHIT we eat. bread, sugar, tonic, coffee?, oils, smoking, booze, etc. it's not meat!!! brown rice, gras fed burger no bun,and brccoli = great meal. nothing left out. it's all about moving the body not if you eat tofu or meat. move our asses
@porkyo123 Actually I'm not disagreeing with you, porkyo. You're right about all the shit we eat. I was just making the point that just because other countries don't eat meat, it doesn't automatically make them healthier. They may have: bad water, high bacterial infections, high alcohol and tobacco consumption rates, unsafe sex practicies, cultural factors, etc. etc. that reduce life expectancy. Just not eating meat doesn't guarantee good health.
Luv you Arnold!
