I want this car, but Renault don't carry the RS line in Denmark, unfortunately (you would be unsellable because of taxes).

You would get better acceleration times if you stopped going into the limiter before shifting ;-)

The speed that you reach with each gear is made by the gear ratios.

Hitting less than 100 km/h doesn't mean shit... or better, it does. It means that the car has a closer gear ratio. That is better for accelerations/recoveries but worse for top speed.

A GP Abarth, for example, can beat a 135i in recoveries.

I think thats not the word in English but i can't remenber :P

But yes, it can be the case that reaching 100 km h in 2nd is perfectly fine and the best way. There are a lot of cars that do it, really. But it depends on the engine, power, power brand, gear ratios, etc.

Ich weiß gar nicht was die alle wollen von wegen "slow" und so. Ich stoppe 6,0 bis 6,3 Sekunden, je nachdem wo man die "reelle" 100 km/h Marke ansetzt. Is doch wohl völlig ok (Werksangabe 6,1 s). Paar Zehntel würden vielleicht noch gehn, aber is entschuldigt dadurch, dass du Kamera/Handy halten musst.

Btw: Ein Deutscher mit nem französischen Auto auf den Salamon-Inseln....? o.O

Übrigens sind es mit einem geeichten GPS Gerät eines Bekannten genau 6,02

also 6 Sekunden. Man darf nur nicht (so wie ich in dem Video) im Sportmodus beschleunigen weil er da mehr Schlupf erlaubt. Und man muss ein paar Zehntel früher schalten als ich es tue - eben wegen der Kamera...

Aber der Focus RS kann nicht mehr als 10 Meter vor mir fahren, ohne den Abstand vergrößern zu können. Erst ab 200 würde ich wohl minimal das Nachsehen haben...

I have GPS instead of RS Monitor. For me it´s a thousand times better. That way I can´t set the different modes..

But: Sport mode is less launch than normal mode and ESP OFF gives me no kind of launch control.. This is my experience with that ESP button..

Keine Ahnung was das für eins ist, aber wer so einen schönen und zeitgemäßen Röhrenfernseher hat, eine so schöne Stoff Couch, sowie einen dermaßen eleganten Laminatboden und auch noch bei solch kreativen Heule-Hundevideos regie führt - der hats halt geschafft.

I just heard about it might have a kind of lauch control. You need to turn off ESP normal by pressing the button 3 sec. Then use RS monitor. Set it in sport or extreme mode and make sur to accelerate until 3000RPM by keepping the brake in the same time. Then start with the DA in 0-100 in the RS monitor. It's the only way to get this score or less than this.

The prblem is: When I accelerate the car like this I HAVE TO HOLD the stearing wheel because otherwhise it goes left or right. While holding the stearing and the cam I must be fast enough to change gear and get back to the stearing wheel... And I did it without oncoming traffic, of course.

It was spontanious recording that´s why the cam wasn´t fixed on the dashboard...

So I´ve just checked the situation about this "Gordini". Surely there´ll be a new one, called Megane RS Tce 275 instead of Tce 250. But this is planned to be with the next facelift of the car. Maybe in two or three years. It wouldn´t make sense earlier...

Unfortunatelly there aren´t enough people uploading videos of the Megane RS. That´s why I can´t find comparisons with other cars as well. I mean, no private videos only car magazines....

@Chevy, what kind of tuning did you do to the car? how's the torque steer after that? I am really thinking about getting this car and was wondering if it is easy to tune and if it will allow me to still use it as an everyday car.

as I mentioned it´s a "valve" tuning. When you hit full gas that valve opens so that you gain 317hp. Using the car a normal way it´s the usual 250hp. Only by hitting the gas you have the full power.

That way I still use it as my everyday car. It´s perfect..

@TheIsaay where did you get this done? I am getting the car by the end of July and was wondering about getting a tune. This is a stage 1 tune right? like ECU only? how does that affect the warranty?
