Nothing like sitting in the right field bleachers in 1982 and heckling Reggie Jackson whenever he came to town (he was with the Angels at the time). I still remember the night the Brewers won the pennant in 1982 and there were tens of thousands marching up and down Wisconsin Avenue with open beers in full view of the cops.
Remember hopping in the fake- wood- sided orange station wagon packed full of kids to go see a game with the family at county. It was dirty, people smoked everywhere, cursed and even wore moustaches! It was exciting for a kid. Truly great memories!
Wow, I went there when I was little for an office party with my dad when he worked for a Milwaukee architect firm. That was in the mid to late 90s, but it was still there then. I'm not much of a baseball fan at all, but that was so long ago and such a memory.
Agreed. As much as I love Miller Park, County Stadium holds so many great memories for me. Although it was no Fenway or Yankee stadium, it still felt like an old-time ballpark. Not to mention Bernie's chalet was so much better than the ridiculous kid's slide they have now.
I never Pay Much Attention to cubs fans anyway as far as im concerned there is only 1 MLB Team in Chicago and that's the white sox Piss On The Baby Bears (CUBS)
It was not a dump... and the only thing you prove by saying it is, is that you aren't a real fan. Real fans only have fond memories of CS. I grew up going to games there. It's where I, and MANY other Brewers fans fell in love with the crew. So why don't you stuff a sock in it.
the keg, mug and chalet currently reside at the Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee. And County Stadium WAS a dump... miss the memories and the things that happened there, but don't miss the house. Miller park is SOOOO awesome. I grew up going to MCS.... I know of what I speak !!

That place was a dump (though now Miller Park looks like a stadium made for Vegas)....though I really wish they would have kept the keg, mug, chalet.
