  • All man I stumbled on to this 1.I use to luv dis jam.Oh the sweet 80s.Nuffin but classics.

  • This song knocks my socks off! George's first solo after WHAM! Matching with Aretha was a stroke of genius. She didn't hold back, George held his own...and met her at her level. Both went full-out and the result is this unforgettable duet. Aretha's wail near the end gives me chills, and this song made George Michael a star!! Definitely one of the greatest duets ever recorded.

  • Oh my God, this has to be the best duet ever done....gives me chills...

  • @anebt Aretha met her match on this song. She sounds here like she does on every song just shouting like a Diva but did not have the emotion George had

  • This song is STILL the jam!

  • This song rocked my world, fell in love, had surgery to have children did and named her destiny...I still believe, my faith is strong.and I am outta the darkness, knew u were waiting for me to lead the way in light to love...for the family of man and peace

  • 28 people have no one waiting for them

  • Aretha looks so lovely in this video. And why oh why couldn't I have had a big sexy squall of a voice like her instead of a soft little alto?!

  • i love this song

  • I put this song on my i-pod so I could listen to it while I ran a half marathon and it is what got me up the 6 mile hill. My favorite song in the world!

  • To all you Charlotte Bobcats fans (like myself): This was the #1 song in the USA when Dante Cunningham came into the world (April 22, 1987).

  • My wedding song!

  • I love them both. Hang in there Aretha! Love you!

  • ...the comfort of knowing there is one man out there who is capable of seeing the worth in thoughts such as this...hmmm moisturous :P

  • Keep the faith - sweet Aretha Franklin

  • Gay or not I don't care, I think he is sex on legs....Mmmmmm. love ya George. xx

  • this ones the one...

  • Awesome video for this great SONG!!!

  • 27 people don't know what Real music is, this is the real deal, just plain awesome!

  • Love this song!

  • Damn!! This duet is awesome. They both have some pipes on them, but Aretha was not made of this planet, WOW, her voice is a national treasure.

  • Which one's the queen?

  • @accuristau ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!

  • @samlatte Glad someone liked it.

  • @samlatte you're a piece of fiffth

  • I love this song...and this duet of two great singers!

  • Two of my favorite divas....

  • This is simply one of the best duets ever. This song could be released on the radio today and still be a hit. And that's what makes it timeless. There are only a few songs in musical history which that can be said about.

  • Aretha looked good to be in her late 40's i tnink? This song is so catchy and who woulda thought George Michael??? Thats how major he was... back then

  • It time for a USA TOUR George!...you are ready to come back to us as we have missed this great voice!!!!

  • HEY!

  • I've already commented that I really like this Song. It's interesting to me that people Sing things they don't mean. He didn't wait for some special Love in his life!

  • @OingoBoingoMe actually he had a very special love who died, which is probably why he's unhinged now...don't make assumptions :)

  • badass groove in that song!

  • SAH=WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

  • Okay people, don't take this the wrong way: George has phenomenal white soul! He had tons of talent when he came onto the music scene in the early 80's-and he was still a teenager! He continues to have so much raw talent today....WE LOVE GEORGE!!!

  • Another Epic pairing from the 80s. I love George Michael, and Aunty Ree Ree is just a Goddess.

  • this song is so me and my hubby lol

  • George what a beautiful man.....wowowow!!! Love you George well I know but I still love you....

  • Wow! The beat, lyrics, voices and everything about this song is perfect!! I'm yet to see a sexier ending of a music video than this one..! Aretha, you did it with ease and class....PHEW!!!!

  • Im watching this because of Aretha's birthday. Oh, god, I havent seen this in so long. Memory lane, baby!

  • Fuck me sideways! These vocals are hot enough to give people third-degree burns! Damn, Aretha's got one HELL of a voice on her. Sing it, Re-Re! Her and George OWN this song!

  • @sbrushfan and so are you!!!!

  • @sbrushfan I agree!!!!!!!!! wow what vocals

  • @sbrushfan Lmao! that was hilarious. Thank u for posting that comment :D

  • @sbrushfan I agree. So sad George is gay,,,he's soooooooo hot!!!

  • Courage comes from deep with in, whispering you can do this,, and then gives you the Strength to Believe any thing is possible!

  • GREAT SONG!! Who are the 2 couples on the video screen besides George and Aretha between the 3 and 4 minute mark??

  • @montel111 The other 3 couples are Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, Sonny & Cher and Ike & Tina Turner.

  • true classic from the 80's:)

  • paul murphy ,joni miller

  • one of my favorite duets ever. george and aretha seriously rocked this song. not only is it original but one song that has stood out over time. big fan of both george michael and aretha franklin.

  • It does kind of sound like Tina! I knew it was Aretha bc I remeber the video. That's how you can tell I am in my 30s lol

  • For so many years I thought this was Tina Turner singing the duet.

    /slap

  • I will always love this song,GM will always be a favorite of mine!

  • This song is a classic. My boyfriend loves this song:)

  • Seriously, does it get any better than this???

This song is nothing short of perfection on all levels.

  • Simply TREMENDOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THIS IS REAL MUSIC!!!!!!!!!! The "so-called" music today is just keyboards and some wannabe trying to have a little fame to try to be noticed for something and getting a paycheck so that person deosen't have to work for a living. People like these two paved the road for the "so-called" music today!

  • @singleplus05 IM SO WITH U ON THAT.. todayz music TRIEZ to be like da 80z but screwz it up..uuuugh.. take us bk PLEASE..lolz..80z4Lyfe.

  • As fresh now as it was then... Bring back the music that was real and meaningful!, So glad I grew up in the 80s, it really was the best. Would listen to and still listen to it over anything they have playing nowadays.

  • WHat a fantastic duet for this SONG!!!

  • There is someone waiting for everyone!

  • Why is it that The Queen of Soul has only 2 number one singles in her career, one being this one? That is so Grody to the max! When people get their heads out of their asses, please tell me.

  • I think this might be my favorite song that they each sang, and their together. The visuals are good: intro male support, collar, makeup, light, background imaging. It's respectful.

  • 23 people have no SOUL!!!

  • george is the best singer ever

  • 23 folks couldn't WAIT to hit the dislike button. Billboard's 664th #1 hit of the rock era. God bless ya, sister 'Ree. Hugs to ya, sugar!

  • I wish today's music was as good as the music in the 80's. When you listen to the music from the 80's, you can actually understand what they were singing about. With today's crap, it's like huh... what the hell was that song about?!

  • @mhunt38

I couldnt agree with you anymore. You just can't blame the artists but also the studios, radio stations and any other venue that is a willing participant in the dissemination of that crap that some people call music. I vote to bring back all of the greats of the 80's, including Franklin and Michaels.

  • 23 people got issues!

  • Alikah-I know he's Gay-lol,but I'm not dead I can still look!lol, and certain guys make the rough and rugged look-look good and in this George just has a way of making rough and rugged look yummy!lol

  • man they just don't make music like this anymore. sadly music will never be like this again. love george don't give a shit that he's gay, he has an awesome voice, loved him in his wham! days and really loved his faith album.

  • I still love this song.No one could have done it better then those two. It is the perfect marriage of the right song and artist.

  • SING IT ARETHA!GET IT GIRL!YOU GO GIRL!LOVE THAT SOUL!LOL.

  • LOVE THESE 2 VOICES AND THE SONG AND GEORGE LOOKED HOT IN THIS VIDEO!YUMMY!LOVE HIM IN THE BLACK LEATHER AND THE 5 O CLOCK SHADOW!LOL.

  • @calster33 Like 'em hard to get, do you?

  • This is classic talent at its best. One of the best duets in my opinion. These kids today only wish they could walk in the shoes of these two. Loved it then, love it even more today. Fantastic song by fantastic talent.

  • awesome and classic

  • I guess 23 people were waiting for something else when they hit the dislike button, cmon! this is a classic people!

  • YESSSSSSS!!!!!!

  • I was a child. I didn't know what the lyrics meant, but it was my favorite song at the time.

  • This is singing. If you can't do this, please go to the nearest Walmart and fill out an application.

Honestly, there are some headline and big name "singers" in the music business that should do just that since they don't know how to do what Ms. Franklin and Mr. Michael accomplished with this song.

  • The person who decided to match those two for a duet must have had an epiphany...

  • I have loved George since the 80's.....saw him in the Miami Orange Bowl, for his Faith Tour, and, again 2 yrs, ago here in Houston...just as sexy as ever....and, that voice....WOW

  • Wow- they are so different as far as looks but somehow they came on camera and had more chemistry and camaraderie than artists today who come together looking all plastered and artificial..

  • I love the duet he did with Jody Whatley, too ("Learn to Say No")

  • I have to listen to this song a minimum of 4 times every time I play it.

  • @Austin86646 lol...so true, brings back positive good feelings and memories

  • @Austin86646 i've looped this for 2-days straight now. it is having an effect on my relationship.

  • @Austin86646 I'm hearin ya...lol

  • @Austin86646 only 4 times? I can't stop listening!

  • @Austin86646

I just listened to this song about 20 times in a row!!! It's great!! So, I hear you.

  • @Austin86646 me too mate

  • I fear for Re-Re--please get well, Queen of Soul. You are American royalty!!

  • actually, wakemeup, Aretha had top billin' on the song, 'cause it was from her album. Billboard's #36 song of '87. 'Ree and George hit #1 pop, #2 AC,#5 soul, in the US. Did it chart in the UK? God bless, and, Happy new year!

  • Finally! Found a good post of this one. Thank you! Love this song.

  • Reminds me of my and my girl on Skype! lol Love HER, love Aretha & George...this is an underrated hit record. Bravo

  • whenever i hear this song chills runs down my spine the eighties was pure magic!!!-umbrown73

  • whenever i hear this song chills runs down my spine the eighties was pure magic!!!

  • Always loved the song, but never looked at it as a "been with the wrong person, sucked, been lonely, now I've found you" type of thing. But LOVVVVVVE it regardless.

  • man i hope aretha frankln makes it out of pancreatic cancer....we've already lost 2 musical geniuses(the godfather of soul)James brown & (the King of pop)Micheal Jackson. please god let the queen of soul live.

  • Jennifer Hudson will never reach her potential, because she is too pure musically and she ain't got no G6 or bullshit cheerleader sounding garbage.

  • George Michael and Prince are the finest artist in the last 30 something years...musically and physically

  • @kookoo78 dam this is something Hudson would do..........

  • Very few singers can outshine George Micheal's voice. Aretha can.

  • MUCH LOVE TO THE QUEEN OF SOUL...MAY SHE CONTINUE TO FIGHT!!!

  • I am praying for you Aretha...though I know the odds are not very good (Pat Swayze, Mike Landon, Ben Orr...)

  • Pure brilliance!!!!

  • I am praying for Aretha. The world is not ready to lose such a talented soul.

  • get well Aretha. we love you.....*sniff sniff*

  • Aretha's got such a powerful voice! Love this - great match/duo.

  • This is a great duet. Get well soon Aretha, you're in my prayers.

  • get well soon Aretha!

  • What is the name or type of shades George Michael is wearing in this video?

  • Britney & Justin couldn't cut it, couldn't compare to George & Aretha, not by a Long shot! No one will ever beat Michael Jackson's music either. I was at a skating rink last weekend and they played the hardcore gangster rap the whole time....only 1 Michael Jackson song out of the bunch and the rest that gangsta rap. Hellooo, little kids skating can hear that crap. Rap was once good back in the late 80's to mid 90's, but that sutff now days is just junk. Can NOT compare to the good 'ol days!

  • Such an inspirational, feel good song from the 80s like so many others. Where did this music go?

  • 23 people dont have anyone waiting for them

  • Two of the greatest singers that have ever lived...amazing!

  • George Michael and Aretha Franklin have amazing voices! Great duo! Age doesnt make any difference...

  • Can you enable embedding so it is not redirected to you tube!!!

  • And with T-Mobile in the UK's latest commercial at Heathrow featuring this song, it's getting additional exposure once again! Great song! Great T-Mobile advertisement!

  • RIP Aretha.. too bad she ate herself to death.. someone shouldve helped her with her fitness GONE WAY TOO SOON

  • @Doubleshot98 ... Aretha isn't deceased. She just cancelled her tour..... Maybe she'll get the surgery soon, before its too late.

  • @Doubleshot98 ...This is not a nice thing to say about the "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin. I don't care if you were joking or not, never say this about our "Queen." NEVER!!!!

  • Back in the day when you actually had to possess a good voice and sing on your records. No autotune! Miss those days :(

  • This is a good song, with an interesting combination: The Queen of Soul & an english "queen" yet to be announced. Wonder how many girls were heart-broken by the news of George Michael's sexuality?

  • Mary834eva >> interesting question, I think they are a fantastic matchup for soulful voices

  • Yes. I love it. (So does my mother.)

  • 23 people had nobody waiting for them

  • this is a great song i remember when it came out.i thought George Michael was hot back in the day.who knew he was gay.

  • @curvy71 Imagine 20 years from now, some of the people who now claim to be straight, will finally come out. Wonder who it'll be?

  • @BahmanG good question we can only wait and see lol.

  • Old school video. They just show half your face while you sing and the other half is off screen. Insane

  • LOVE it - still great after all these years. Try doing that Ke$ha!

  • NO ONE is cooler than George in this video!

  • yep,song rox.

  • todays music is top10 and no talent teen band and singers wheres the talent ? im tired of it

  • @daniel61363 not sure, but i think it just may be extinct these days.

  • an odd duet but great music. a classic

  • @ladybost74 odd duet eh? go look up al green and annie lennox doing put a little love in your heart..hehe

  • The classic from the days when one could understand what singers were actually singing.

  • Great song. Great combo. Great video for back then. Damn she can sing.
