Sounds like the guy interviewed was in the elevator when the power went out. Most elevators today will return to the nearest floor and open their doors in the event of a power failure.
@PinePowerLI thats what the elevator in the macgraw hill building was supose to do but it didnt and that guy was trapped in the elevator for 41 hours p.s. they had a power serge and it screwed up the elevator computers but it didnt return to the nearest floor
I lived in 304 (I think) circa 1992-1993.
