Sorry Geoff. I didn't meant to come off as critical of your guitar playing. I think it's quite good. I think it's silly for people to compare rock guitarists to jazz and classical guitarists. I happen to like rock, classical and jazz music. Some people who are into jazz and classical music just don't like rock. I don't think it's cool for them to trash other people's videos or to impersonate someone. I liked your videos.

Okay, well actually I DIDN'T post this video. This is a noodling outtake from when I was filming lessons for WorkshopLive. They said, "Jam on one chord for a minute". Hence the one chord vamp.

PS to 55qwerty, L4CES and 335kid. It's pointless comparing a rock guitarist to professional classical and jazz guitarists. They will never compare favorably. The irony of naming this "got technique" is that this is actually sloppy playing compared to Jimmy Bruno, Dean, Larry and Xue-Fei. You just need to accept rock for what it is and enjoy it or just don't listen to it.

I just saw him a short while ago playing at Smoke in NYC and again at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola. I bet the asshole who stole his name will be using Kurt Cobain as his handle next. I used a Loop Station to loop a phrase in G and improvise over it. Notice there's a lot of hybrid picking going on, meaning using both pick and fingers on my right hand.
