Michael Portillo is a man of integrity - there is nothing wrong with some youthful adventure - he did no shy away from it.
One thing I want to say is this - for a mature economy like Britain, politics and civil service cannot really do more. Changes must happen within businesses. Britain is fairly deregulated, taxes are not that high, she has a lot of good talents and legacies unexplored.
@mediumdensityfibre1 many thanks for your comment. We have worked hard to try and do something different in Bracknell for the local businesses. Perhaps, in trying to develop these events and other activities, we have not 'pushed' this video as much as we might. Having sat across the desk from Michael and interviewing him personally, I can totally concur with your view of him.He is a man who has lived an extraordinary life and has great personal integrity, charm and charisma.

Pity this has had so few views, though I don't know when it was posted. Portillo impresses here as he does wheresoever I hear him speak nowadays.
