all of you guys are idiots.. its to show the tuning sustainability on the licensed floyd rose. i have read that its not very good and this video gave me a bit more understanding on the subject, exactly the vid i was looking for, thanks
well, now i gotta go get some aspirin for this migraine, thanks for wasting about 3 minutes of time watching this video, 30 seconds typing this comment, and then the 20 min trip to the pharmacy...
My Jackson FR doens't go out of tune because I stuck a fourth spring into it. and put some fatter strings on it.. However, the actual bar itself did actually snap earlier while I was doing some dimebag harmonic squeals, so I've had to buy a new one for £5.
Im pretty sure youre missing the point and starting an internet flame hollister battle...i should of just told you that you suck at guitar and you should make a whammy video proving you can do it.
ok...to the replyer.... German Machined Stainless steel, Jackson is a forged alloy...you do the math....lemme rephrase my analogy. cheap steal, vs good steal pretty much the same things....the real floyd looks like it would outlast nuclear fallout a little better, but there the fuckin same thing.
@japimportssuck What are you even trying to say? All i see is way to many analogies and you contradicting yourself. First the German is the better, now they're both the same? What about Ibanez roses? do they get some terrible analogy too?
I have a million floyd rose guitars. Im willing to say the original german one has the best metal and machine work...but theyre almost all the same. Obviously jackson isnt going to produce things as finely as the germans! Think about it....ford mustang...porsche 911.
i believe they were ernie balls. don't remember, i've switched brands a few times since. Right now i use Thomastik-Infeld strings, and get much better tone, stability, and life out of my strings.
Since you have an audience of guitar tech minded peoples.. can anyone tell me what the standard screw thread is on most whammy bars..in particular for the Washburn Maverick. ?
I want to have a go at making myself a custom whammy bar from a nice strong bit of exotic wood.
@SONGSTICKS unfamiliar with that specific guitar, but most floyds either have a "pop-in" bar, like an ibanez or some strat tremolos. and the others actually have a bar that just has a collar around it tighten it in.
im pretty sure i have a bar with actual threads on it in my basement, but i'm about to go to bed and don't want to dig it out tonight :P
dude, i love my guitar, but the Jackson licensed floyd rose's suck! trust me, you cannot pull off any good whammy bar tricks with them. try to flutter, and you will fail miserably! try to pull off a smooth vibrato with it, you will fail miserably! after so much use, the bar unscrews itself and it bangs on the walls of the hole its in. just because it doesn't go out of tune doesn't mean its any good. And also, the intonation sucks. I hate that when you pull, the strings stretch at different rates
Awesome man but you got lucky. It's not that licensend Floyd sucks it's just they are made of cheaper of metal therefore most of them need some fixing or just simply can't stay in tune but chances are always 50% , 50% but they don't suck. But again you do find a lot that need fixing or don't work like a month ago I was going to buy a guitar with one but it didn't stay in tune
@MitchRulzWorld no, official roses are typically better. unless you are talking about ibanez floyd roses, ibanez have a few that rival/on par with an official one. but as far as the "cheapo" roses go, jackson has one of the best.
@tonmereestgross just be sure to titen up ur nuts when you're perfectly in tune, fine tune it, play with the floyd rose to stretch the strings, and keep fine tuning it. I do tons of warbles and deep ass dives, and my floyd dont cum out.
When I bend a string, it send the bar going down a little bit, slightly throwing the other strings out of pitch. What the heck is wrong? It's the same trem.
i guess thats what floyds and locking gear are made for, no surprise. i had an ibanez with a floyd and it would not go out of tune at all, it was 11 years old old as fuck, still no going out of tune
thats the dx10d isnt it, i have the same guitar (older model, 2005) in trans blue, can you tell me what strings you use and how you replace your strings, basically what YOU do, because mine is pretty tricky.
its a floyd rose its not supposed to go out of tune if you set it up right if it goes out of tune stretch the strings out if you stretch the strings out good and it goes out of tune make sure you have all ur stuff set up and locked right if all of it is right send the floyd back becuz its probably a production flaw
I need to replace my jackson floyd with an OFR. Can I just order one off ebay if I don't wanna replace my locking nut? I don't know the nut size and stuff on my jackson..
I've had a Dk2m for a year now with the Jackson JT-580LP... Except for one time when i didn't make one of the locking nut screws tight enough, it has NEVER jumped out of tune of really brutal whammying... NEVER! Solid as a f*cking moutain. (This is why i'm VEEEERY curious about a real OFR... ;) )
i was just looking at this vid again and found ur comment sry but u didnt reply to me or i didnt get it and im replying to you and saying that that was a while ago and i now know so much more about the floyds and edge tremelos and saying that when i whammyd the strings bent i mean like BENT like overlapped each other whoever set that trem up overtightened it SO MUCH
that being said i have and OFR pro, a Jackson JT-6, Jackson JT-500, and JT-590. and have used the JT-580LP as well. had zero problems with any of them...
yeah people dont understand theres like 6 or 7 different makes of LFR that jackson has made over the years... some suck really bad, some are excellent. to be honest theres some many variables with a fulcrum tremelo most people with tuning problems that blame the licensed ones usually dont properly set it up. one hitch in any variable will make it impossible to keep in tune. this is not the LFR's fault but the person who "set it up"...
I totally agree with u that not all LFRs suck. I recently bought a Jackson DXMG with a LFR that hasn't gone out of tune since i changed the strings 2 weeks ago. Nice guitar btw
im not going to post another video to prove it's licensed, but if you look up "jackson dx10d" which is the same model as mine, it's licensed. i can put pictures of it in the description if needed, but making another video would be a waste of time.
