It's really amazing, that all of them are healthy, beautiful, behaving, helpful, educated. But they are isolated from the real world, they don't have friends. Why they don't attend school? That's unhealthy!

i agree. they shouldn't be homeschooling thier kids, or if they must, they should at least get their kids involved in a youth group or sports teams or something...so they actually meet kids from the real world. haha.

As a homeschooler, I can vouch for the healthiness of a close-knit family, and the fact that homeschoolers are (usually) fine at socializing and have outside friends. It's also typical for them to interact better than other children with adults =)

In researching my family tree, I discovered that just 2 generations ago, My great grandparents had 12 kids. It was "normal" before birth control. There is nothing wrong with older siblings helping out with younger kids...its not forced labor...its a family loving each other. I admit that 18 is more than I can bear(no pun intended) lol...but if she can bear it, thats ok.

They may be self-sufficient, but think about WHY they have a TV show. Are they famous because they are interesting, talented entertainers, or because America is fascinated with this spectacle for no other reason except that they needlessly overpopulate the Earth? i could not do that i have one boy 21 months old and and i cant go thru teething diarhhea walkers baby swings diapers pacifers baby food wipes receving blankets spitting up warming up milk or breastfeeding clips and snaps on all their clothing laundry crying the terrible twos and especially the needy-ness i love my son but doing that with 18 kids 18 times every day i mean they go thru alot of stages and to keep doing it over over is just a lil bit CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is ridiculous! These poor kids! If they are smart, they will never want kids! They will want to rest since they have to raise their siblings while mom and dad set back and give orders! I believe in teaching your kids the Godly way to live life, but they also need to have people skills! When they get out in the real world, they're not going to know what to do!

I plan on having lots of kids. I never imagined how hateful some could be. Nobody talks that way about Angelina Jolie or says that women are having too many abortions! If it's supposed to be about the right to choose, what's wrong with their choices? Wanna know what I think? I think certain peple need to believe that our way of life doesn't work in order to justify theirs, so when they see it working, they get mad. But Christians are closed minded bigots? The couple are in LOVE with each other! They have been together forever and they still love each other! They are blessed! Most of you don't even have the slightest idea what love is. Get your facts straight and do some research!!! At the very beginning of Jim-Bob and Michelle's relationship they were on birth control that actually killed there baby after conception. from that day forward they prayed to God to bless them with as many children that he would let them conceive.

They are loving parents and can financially, emotionally, and morally support their children.

A lot of us can offer testimony about how wonderful it is to have a big loving family. Even if we don't agree with what makes them happy, they are not a burden on society, and plus who are we to judge.

actually they own several commercial buildings they rent out and of course they shop at second hand stores. if u followed em from the start they actually built that beautiful home mostly themselves with instruction from contractors. its not impossible to raise a large family without hand outs.

What an incredible family. There is this weird rumor that they get donations for everything with is not true. They built their 7000 sq foot house debt free by themselves. They have no debt whatsoever and do not depend on any Government help. Incredible! This family is living their lives the way God created it. Only man created birth control. They are not sick. They are amazing.

And no one should tell any couple whether or not they should have any number of children; even if it is 18 or more, that is between them and God.

In many instances from my observations; large families have better raised children than some small or one child or even childless families.
