  • That was awesome. Great job

  • It wasn't changed or arranged by Mr Smith the original version is on a AcGuitar and simple as well. He just covered it like a lot of artists have. I like your version though. peace

  • Thank you for the positive comments. The original version was played on something like 5 guitars as far as I know. Elliott arranged it for one.

  • Well ya its a recording so perhaps there was some overdubbing of AG, but as far as changing it no. Mr. Smith just covered it. Whatever it doesn't really matter. What does matter is that you have a nice voice and play well. Do you write anything?

  • This is very nice! You play very well and sing this song perfectly! Nice job!

I'm going to try and get that tab. I know the chords and almost have the picking pattern down-but that's holding me up. I have an Eterna EF-15. I love it! Yamaha makes (made?) great guitars. It has gotten better with age!

  • i have a fg-180 in 1967.

    what string do you use?

and your saddle, nut are original?

if not, could you tell me what type you're using?

  • Hey james... I usually use john pearse or d'addario mediums... usually don't notice too much difference in terms of sound but the pearse's last longer... d'addario are about half the price though.

Saddle is definitely original... nut might be too, but can't say for sure.

    Cheers.

  • really well done, i also like the shot of your red label yamaha, i have a fg 450,i cherish it

  • that was incredible, you have an amazing voice.. Very good job

  • I dont normally leave comments but WOW!!! your version is absolutely beautiful. I,m learning it myself, awesome and thanks for the link to the tabs, Cheers.

  • is that a Martin?

    just curious.

  • Very flattered that you asked this, but it is a 1970 Yamaha FG180 (plywood martin copy)

  • right. the display name. lol

  • just goes to show you it's the player not the guitar.

    nice job

  • @oldyamaha1 Thats Elliotts guitar!!!!!!!!

  • @oldyamaha1 I have an FG 332 which may well be another Martin copy.

  • this is really really beautiful. awesome job, your voice is really great too

  • I get so crazy of this songs tab!! Can you please give me your tab to this song. Please!

  • Hi, I got the tabs for this song from Sweet Adeline (the Elliott Smith fan club website) Look under music, tabs, covers, Thirteen version 2 I believe... they are perfect tabs. There are many out there which are not so good. Enjoy!

  • i just checked the website and they said it was either removed or moved. any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • The url changed recently which could be the problem... just google sweet adeline and you will find it. The tabs are still there. I cant post the link here - youtube wont let me... have fun!
