@david1952000 i dunno but i have played a danelectro dead on 67 and its ok but the neck is painted, its body is made of plastic and felt quite awkward to play, i know people hype it up but it didnt click with me

Nice playing, especially the Django influenced stuff in the beginning. To Mrguitarman's question. If you want to sound like Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, buy a Strat not a Tele, use clean compression, light strings, finger-style picking and master the vibrato (whammy) bar and string bends. Knopfler used a Tele sometimes, but mostly a Strat. But if you like a Tele, you at least are getting the long scale and single coil Fender sound. Hence closer to a Strat than a Gibson-style guitar.

@FusionSax10 It depends what your amp and effects setup is... For instance the band Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster uses mainly Fender Teles, and they come up with some pretty heavy stuff, John5 from Manson/Rob Zombie also uses them predominantly, so, it depends on how you manipulate them.

I love my Squier Tele mines a little different but its pretty sweet and im getting an ESP LTD V-200 next month

you mustve gotten one of the good ones-I played one in guitar center a week ago and the damn pickups kept cutting out! It felt like a toy. What was worse was the horrendously bad craft,manship on the epi les paul I also tried-yuk.

@scorpguitar79 don't go to a guitar center for a guitar. i got this from a small store where even the cheap ones are set up nicely.

Yes it does make a difference-at guitar center they have too much going on to care about the cheaper guitars.  Just curious as to why not an SX or another xavierre? The squire teles use a mix of alder and agathis whereas the sx and xavierre use solid alder.
