@angelmom3950 He had a brain. It was all there. His auto functions were all in his cerebellum which went largely unaffected. He was able to breastfeed for most of his 9 week life, though in the end he was too weak to feed. His heart, breathing, and digestion were completely unaffected. What took his life was his encephalocele rupturing - he lost all his cerebral spinal fluid and one cannot live without that.

@333pinkitty Not true. In our son's case, he was not in pain. The nerve endings were not the same as your brain's nerve endings. He went peacefully without any pain. And I'd prefer that you not judge my son's medical condition without knowing more. It was not selfish at all. We gave him a life that he deserved.

The supposed "cuteness" of an anencephalic baby should not detract from the fact that he was delivered just so he could live a little over two months with a very serious medical condition and his parents could shoot a creepy video. I find this clip utterly cruel, sick, disgusting and revolting. Joshua Matthew just didn't deserve to be used as a catalyzer of "admiration" and "commendation". His mom should have got an abortion. End of story.

This is kind of twisted, but when I was pregnant with my son I was told he would have a "little arm" and to get an abortion. I had my baby, his arms are fine. He has severe MR and low functioning autism, but at least he is still alive at 6 years old. Imagine if I wasted his precious life? It is hard, but worth every smile and every little bit of love he get's to share with us.

The smile at 4:12 is the sweetest smile I've seen in a long time.. I to had to bury my son this past April... not for the same reason... but I would of given anything to have him for 67 days... My son is 7 monthes old now and was born with a deformity too so I know how hard that is to see your child got through that.He had to have surgery in December to fix his skull and doing great now. Your son is with God and is an angel looking down on you. Even though he only had a short time on this earth, it looks like he got more love than most people get in a lifetime. God Bless.
