  • How do you hide the projector outside from weather. Also did not think of using like a wall. Trying to decide what I am going to do.

  • 1 Day I Made The Busts Out Of Paper Haha GRIM GRINNING GGGGGGGGHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSTT

  • Did you project all four faces with just one projector? Or did you use one for each bust?

  • please tell me how to make them for years i wanted to make them!

  • please tell me how to make themfor years i wanted to make them!

  • there's programs, websites (try keepvid.com), and addons (for, say, firefox) that let you download youtube videos.

  • nice!

  • Do you have details on exactly were you got this projector, what it's called, and what website it is? Sorry it's a lot of questions.

  • my dad went on the haunted mansion ride at disney world there cart stoped right next two the singing busts they keeped singing the same song again and again and again

  • Did this cost much?

  • How do you do the bust effect please reply

  • i was Raven last year and when i was done trick-r-treating, i sat in a chair in the driveway at my grandma's house with my costume on, and i sat there motionless until people walked by me, they thought that i was a decoration! i sat still very well like i was a plush doll.

  • Can they sing This Is Halloween?

  • this is amazing! how did you do that?

  • Very cool and atmospheric !

  • There is a unit that works awsome on ebay

     Item number 320377319221 or 320416861566

It has 3 channels and rated at 1200-2400 Watts. It has a lifetime warranty

  • OMG where can i find the original footage i have been looking for ages!!!

  • look in the "Related Videos" section to the right of this vid. then use file2hd . com to download them

  • if you don't have a copy you should download it on a site like

downloadyoutubevideos dot come and the convert the .flv to .avi or something.

Anyways, awesome job! how many projectors did you need?

  • That's pretty freaking awesome/terrifying.

  • Hahaha awesome. !!!!! Ich love this

  • That is, without a doubt, one of the coolest things I have ever seen. That literally made my jaw drop!

btw, if you want to get this video back, you can use mediaconverter . org. Just copy and paste the URL on the designated area, and they'll make a download link for you.

  • How did you do this? :D That was really cool. I know it works with a projector but how do you get the faces to project right on to the Styrofoam heads the way you want them to?

  • This is perfection of what i want to achieve. I got this idea from a bust on a roman column at the Smishsonian deuing an elementary school field trip to DC, and it scared the living daylights out of me.

  • you made this?!?!!?!?

    AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • how do you make the face's move? thats Amazing : )

  • Its tony the tiger! THEIR GREAT!!!

  • I figured that WAS HIM!!! WHAT A VOICE!!

  • I am trying to do a similar thing for my home haunt this halloween. I put an early test I have on the video response. I hope I can make it look as good as yours.

  • whered you get the heads??

  • they appear to just be styrofoam wig heads, available at most beauty supply stores

  • whoa awesome!

  • I want them

    okay just one

  • awesome!

  • that is so cool!!!!! i wish i could do that- again, looks just like it does on the actual haunted mansion!!

  • Is that when you got stuck on the ride? Just curious.

  • Not bad at all Good Job

  • This is great... Does anyone know where to get the video??? I really want to try this. My plan is to burn it to a DVD and use my projector in the yard. I've been looking all over the net for the video and cant find a place to download it. Any ideas????

  • Were you able to find a DVD I also looked all over the place

  • I did this effect at our home haunt, check out my channel for a video. its called The Raven Manor '08. Anyways, I used my computer to play it, so I just downloaded the singing heads, tossed it in windows movie maker, made them fade in and out and then played it on repeat in windows media player. I then attached a projector, and BAM, we have singing busts. it was a huuge hit. no one knew how I did it. ha! good luck!

  • Not bad at all!

  • Great job!

Looks like a home made version of the SkullTronix Ghost Bust, but without the price tag! Fun!

  • ...or you could say that the Skulltronix Ghost Bust is a (pricey) homemade version of the original Haunted Mansion singing busts...

  • Hardly home made. I tried for weeks to pull this effect off, (and I'm pretty good with vids), but it couldn't touch their level of quality. I finally talked my wife into letting me shell out the dough, and we were both THRILLED with it! Best toy she's ever let me buy! ; ) I enjoyed trying to do it myself, (learned a lot), but I just couldn't touch the profnlsm of the SkullTronix version. Worth the money if you really want to wow people on Halloween. But back to mdmleotafan's: GREAT JOB!

  • No, no, I totally agree. I just wanted to point out that Skulltronix wasn't the first. But yeah, those guys rock. Didn't mean to sound rude.

  • so are they basically projections of face, on those things that u usually see wigs on?

  • do you know where you could buy the styrofoam wig heads

  • I bought my styrofoam heads on ebay.

  • Where would u get the projector to do this? and how do u get the projection on there?

  • we bought the projector from a store on the internet. The projector is a lcd projector. It hooks up to the computer and can project any image on your computer screen onto the wall, or in this case, styrofoam heads.

  • what was the site's name? And was it expensive?

  • all it is , is heads with holograms on u can tell but still good

  • not holograms, but projections...

  • mouth movements off but how did u do this

  • Thats cool you did that BUT your short by 1. There are 5 in the ride

  • yeah, I know... we've yet to find decent video footage of the 5th bust from this set.

  • @doombuggywa Nice way to piss on this video. Why do you HAVE to find fault with it. It's an amazing Video. Don't say "I'm just saying there were 5"....Trust me, your jealous and your pissing on them for something that you can't do!!

    I love it....Thank you!!!

  • @71kellyn I said it 2 years ago let it go, sounds like your the bitter one.

  • LOL!

  • Did you use more than one projecter?

  • nope, just one!

  • @mdmleotafan But how did you avoid the white washing everything else? That's wicked cool!

  • haha made me laff =D

  • very cool!

  • This is so cool!!!!!!!Did you have to use 4 projectors to do this? And if so where did you get the disney voices to do this?

  • How did you make this? I think it's neat!

  • okay, but the mouth movements are off

  • I did the same thing, check my profile.

  • Where Did You Get The Projecter, ANd The Images? We want to try To Make Some Singing Busts!

  • Did you use a projector? Thats really cool looking good job O_O

  • Thanks! Yes, we projected the images onto the styrofoam heads.

  • WOW DID YOU REALY MAKE THIS !! !!!!!!!!

  • yes, we attempted to!

  • hey, your pretty good!!

  • Very cool!

  • thats kewl

  • This is an extremely awesome idea. You're the first person I've heard of recreating ride props for decorations!

  • thanks maddie, but believe me, I'm not the first...I've been inspired by other fans that have made some awesome recreations!

  • Does anyone know where i can get this footage?

  • Hey do you think you could give me the footage of the sings heads? I'd really like to put it on my projector by halloween. Thanks a lot!

  • I think you should try make them look like the busts from the movie. They are so much funnier! Maybe you can make a Madame Leota too.

  • We do have a madame leota video.. you should check it out!

  • i really like tht.....

please tell me how you did it!!!

  • nextime, plz try to time the mouths with the song, and also, make some cracks in the bust plz

  • the audio sync got messed up when I uploaded to youtube..don't know how that happened.

  • be thankful they even did this

  • it would look a deal lot better if you bought white wigs with short hair and trimmed it and stuff to look like the ones on the ride thats what they did to madame leota you should of seen her before she had her wig installed in the ride before it opened :P

  • To answer some of the questions I've received, we used only one projector to project all the heads. The heads were on one video, which I found here on youtube. Once I find the link, I'll post it here. Once we had the projector set up, we then aligned the projected images onto the styrofoam wig heads. I'm hoping to sculpt more accurate looking busts for this year because these foam heads were not the right fit. I appreciate all the comments and feedback guys.

  • Love it!

I have three of the four heads individually on dvd.

But I was thinking of trying it using one projector.

So I need a source for video of all four heads in the same frame.

do you have such a source?

    how did you do yours?

  • thats so cool! I really want to do this next year so I have a few questions... Where's the projector first of all and did you record everyone together or seperately?

  • Nice work :)

Where did you get this version of the song? I've been looking for a barbershop a'capella version of Grim Grinning Ghosts for a while.

  • It sounds kinda boring without the jazzy music.

  • thats very good yet uneffective, in order to get the same effect disney uses, you must create the faces on the manaquins exactly as they are in the projections. What we did on our Haunted Mansion Halloween walk through was just project on a scrim, your better off doing that because the faces dont look distorted and are much eaiser to look at.

  • Klpeek, I'd love to see video of your Halloween walk thru! We were just experimenting with this technique and it was more effective in person than on video, but you're right, it didn't work so well on Halloween night because we couldn't use forced perspective, as in the ride. We plan to sculpt some better looking busts for next year...

We did project Madame Leota onto scrim.. She looked great!

  • Ironic because we had an Actual leota head/crystal ball that was nearly an exact replica of the real on and looked amazing! i will post a video as soon as I get a new firewire.

  • I'm very interested in this effect also. Would love to see your video.

  • WOW Where did you guys get projections of the busts?

  • neat :)

  • when I uploaded to youtube, the sound became off..

    bummer

  • I was wanting to do this also. How are you projecting onto the heads?
