  • This man is a genius, even here. This is just Palpatine before he shaped up and became a politician.

  • Who knew Palpatine had a hairy back??

  • that awesome Scottish accent :D

  • Perhaps you refer to the imminent attack of your rebel fleet??!?! I assure you we are quite safe from your FRIENDS here!!!

  • watching this at night scares the living shit outta me.

  • I can see Palpatines tits

  • thanks for posting

  • And now young knocker.....you will die.

  • Scottish accent at its best!

  • Och, aye, I'm afreed the deflector shield will be quiiiite operational when yur wee friends arrive.

  • I told my friends this was the same guy who plays Palpatine... they didn't believe me.

  • I'm afraid the deflector shields will be quite operational when ur friends arive...

  • I think this is the best interpretation of the Porter I have ever seen. In the 2010 movie Macbeth with Patrick Stewart, is another good Porter scene. But Ian McDiarmid is the best porter, the Force is strong in him :D

  • Poor guy. I bet he was thinking "This play sucks, but I need the job. Some day I'll get to deliver lines written by a GOOD writer, like...George Lucas!"

  • Once more Porter will rule the galaxy! And...we shall have...peace.

  • this is hilariously filthy

  • and im a grown man, and when i saw palpatine in star wars i actually got a bit nervous lol something i thought wouldnt never happen when i watch a film, i mean when i was younger i used to get scared of nasty characters n all tht horror films n such but not anymore, then i saw him as palpatine or darth sidious and ther was a scene when he revealed he was a sith lord and i was on edge like, he looked frightening, n the way he talked to anakin after dealing with mace (samuel l jackson)

  • i saw this guy as palpatine in star wars and he so outshined the other actors in the whole film, you can really tell what a good actor he is, i mean in one scene you got samuel l jackson and ian here, and in my opinion, it proves to me that samuel is an average actor, who got lucky and is just in the limelight all the time, this guy hands down is a better actor than samuel l jackson, theatre actors usually r alot better than film actors why i dont know

  • Using it for college auditions!

  • this guys n amazin actor lmao

  • Brilliant.

  • lol what an arty fag lol

  • He has man boobs.

  • i've always felt that ian mcdiarmid would have been an excellent humphrey appleby in a stage version of "yes minister" or "yes prime minister".

  • the way he says "equivocator" at 1:25 sounds exactly like Palpatine.

  • @Cedarosaurus Because it is Palpatine... ;) it's just him before he became a Senator.

  • I'm doing this speech for my first drama class "performance". Our assignment is about a 2 minute speech that's "silly". Well, if my putting on blush to make my nose and eyes red, messing up my hair, stumbling around the room yelling "knock KNOCK" and generally making people question my sanity isn't "silly" I don't know what is xD

  • because I for one would love Ian playing the doctor he should have been wildly considered instead of crappy David Tennant,Ian's got the right facial expression of a doctor and it could be a really nice change for Ian to portray the nice guy for once.

  • @moviebuff1986 Too physically similar to a previous Doctor: he could be Sylvester McCoy's twin brother.

  • Wow a really marvelous performance coming from Ian McDiarmid he simply leaves me feeling deeply mesmerised with his funny characteristics always loved him as Emperor Palpatine in the Star Wars Movies and from a personal standpoint I do honestly think he was by far the best person who really portrayed Darth Sidious with such brilliance I have always Imagined how Ian would be in the role of Doctor Who I definitely think he could seriously be perfect for that role he would be absolutely tremendous

  • Wow - he's appropriately silly, strange, savage, and ultimately....funny. He's really goodl

  • We watched this at school recently - it was cool.

Not many people seemed to actually watch it though...
