I guarantee if you took a Subaru WRC car and put it through this and bucked the landing ramp like ACP, the car would be in just as much of a world of hurt as any of these cars. You can't beef up suspension components THAT much
I guarantee you are wrong. Look up Safari Rally WRC rounds of the 90s. WRC cars have suspensions that are close to Trophy Truck effectivness and strenght, minus some of the travel of course.
as far as effectiveness goes, these cars running in the x games have "trophy truck effectiveness", but no rally car has trophy truck suspension travel at all. If you slap the back of a trophy truck against the face of the landing ramp, you WILL kick the back end up.
I dont know if Im the only 1, but Im really sick of seeing all of these idiots with deep pockets come into rally not knowing what they are doing. It makes me want 2 puke.
Its like all of the sudden, the winner is the 1 that actually has a car that would MAKE it to the finish line, instead of having skill to get him there fastest.
Wish I had some deep pockets... I'd put my heart/soul into rally racing and at least try to be something worth noticing, and not just entertaining.
The cars were all setup perfectly. The reason why many of the cars broke down was because of the practice sessions. There were a lot who couldn't even race because of damage from practice.
If you think about it, they must have messed up the jump several times during practice before getting it right.
These are Group N cars, not the same you see on WRC broadcasts (whereas they are still competing) These are based on the normal roadcars, not entirely racebuild from factory
These are actually Open Class cars. Entirely different beasts. But you are right, that Group N resembles the homologated road going versions much closer.
Yeah, this year's race looked like a joke. Rally cars are not supposed to break. The drivers don't have near as much skill as WRC drivers either. This year's race was NOT good for rally racing. Keep in mind, the SWRT has a much, MUCH bigger budget than the SRTU. But still, it was a joke.
this is bullshit, not rally

This has nothing to do with rallycross. Rallycross is door-to-door racing on a short, mixed surface track with a heat event structure.
