Honestly I don't see anything wrong with circumcision. People say it's so wrong and stuff. the baby is on pain meds. Let me ask something. What about dogs? When they get nurtured their complete balls get taken off but no one defends them. baby's get to keep their balls and it's just a piece of skin that get's taken off. Why is it such a big deal. If you don't see anything wrong with circumcision perhaps you haven't looked closely at the issue.

Circumcision removes the most sexually responsive skin of the penis, approx. 50% of the skin system of the penis is removed.

It is done without consent.

Those who do it are motivated by their own circumcisions, and money.

Your foreskin is a "piece of skin" in a similar way your eyelids are a "piece of skin".

Babies need nurturing, not immediate surgery to remove healthy body parts.

Most babies are not given any anesthesia actually, and if they are given any, it is only partially effective. You should watch an actual video of a circumcision and they I'm sure you will see how torturous and ridiculous it is

If you were strapped down and healthy tissue was amputated from your healthy body without your consent wouldn't you consider that a violation of your human rights? Over the last few years studies have shown that the foreskin is not just a flap of skin but an important and necessary organ to the male anatomy. Please research the foreskin for yourself I'm sure the knowledge will amaze you.

A child is an individual person, they have a right to choose what is done to their own bodies, unless something is directly endangering a childs health, no child should have a part of their bodies interfered with by another human being, not even his/her parents, it's wrong.

If a doctor strapped down an adult male (human) and cut off his foreskin, without signed consent, the doctor would be:

1) Struck off the medical register

2) Placed on a sex offenders register

3) Given a custodial sentence

We used to circumcise girls in the US too. In fact, Blue Cross/Blue Shield covered it up into the 1970's

The adult female population in the US certainly has issues with the male population in terms of the harm that men inflict on women on many different levels. Be it domestic violence infidelity unequal pay, drug use and alcohol abuse and the list goes on. Than being said, it is virtually unheard of for the adult male population in the US to express any desire or demand to see to it that female infants be genitally mutilated. It is a good thing that FMG is not culturally ingrained. Stop RIC!!!

My parents were sitting outside the room when they did it to my brother. My mother said that it was then that they "decided" that they were not going to subject any future sons to this. It's because of that that my youngest brother is intact. Unfortunately sanity came to them too late for me and my other brother. This is certainly not something that should be left to the parents. Until circumcision is banned, I don't think we have to much to brag about when it comes to human rights.

It is really hard to make the comparison between Female Genital Cutting and Infant Male Circumcision, because so many people have such a limited understanding of both practices. However, I do think the way Tina explained it was very useful!

Tina is also COMPLETELY right that parents do not have the right to make a decision to amputate healthy genital tissue from an infant. When will more people realize this fact?
