  • The documentary clearly shows a lucky but clearly fatal hit by a depth charge. This blew a huge hole in the hull on the starboard side amidships. There would have been no survivors. 66 year on, there would be nothing but shoes.

As a skinny 19 year old, my dad polished the inside of torpedo tubes at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company.

  • They should bring it up and bury the crew. The hatches are all secured. That means they are all in the sub yet. Why the crew didn't get out who knowes. It was shallow enough for escape by Iron Lungs.

  • I was just a the Cobia sub museum. Nice sub. A must see in Manitowoc. Engines stil run, radar, the works. Gun mount works. Still floating and mostly all operational.

  • Sad you are unremarkable....even sadder that you felt you had to let everyone know it as well....

  • P.S. By the way, the documentary won three emmys.

  • haster234 how is this stupid? this is an incredible story. go away.
