@lovegunz1 Yeah, you´re right. Activated carbon filters out all that. Some dude told me that he makes activated carbon out of coconut shells, is that true? When that guy told me that, I wacked´em on the head with a rolled up L.A. Times Sports Section telling´em to stop smoking that shit. But what if he was telling the truth. Is that posible?

i believe that filter is a 2 part filter. There is the activated carbon filter at the top and there is a ion exchange media at the bottom.

Activated carbon is a well known de-coloring agent.

Do you think it would be easier to take the water you would use for making coffee, and pour it into the square container? Skipping the parts where you taint the water with roasted and ground vegetable matter, and then filtering it back out?

Coffee is quite delicious though.
