The original is definitely NOT by Jeff Buckley. It's actually really funny that the cover is so faithful to Leonard Cohen's way of performing, but that they didn't know he originated it. Of all the covers I've seen, this is probably the one that most resembles the original, and yet it doesn't credit Leonard.

So sorry to have to refute the end credits of the video, but Jeff Buckley is not the originator of this song - he did a great cover of it, no doubt, but he is not the writer nor is the first one to record it. It was written and recorded by Leonard Cohen in 1984. See Hallelujah on Wikipedia for the Cohen album cover and details.

Ganz klar, ein herausragendes Lied, allerdings ist mir diese Art der Interpretation dieses unumwunden sehr häufig kopierten Stücks etwas zu emotionslos, auch wenn sie dem Original von Mr, Cohen am ähnlichsten ist.  Dennoch ohne Zweifel, ..... Chapeau !
