  • °___° wow

  • fuck yeah!

  • Where was this? Any chance of an official mp3?

  • @chrctrnm Well on the video it says WDR which if you Google, it will come up with a German TV station. It's doubtful that there is an official release of an MP3 for this, as far as I know their only official live release is "As Is" so your best bet is to use Zamzar (Google it for the site) to convert the audio of this video into an MP3. Hope that helps ;)

  • @chrctrnm try youtube downloader

  • whos the pianist?

  • @rgrainger09 Shai maestro. -> He plays like god on "Avishai cohen Trio Nu Nu#1 2007"

  • fast hands, but other than that, I found this to be some of his more dull playing

  • @drummingforever at least his more dull playing is more interesting than most drummers most interesting :D

  • Does anybody know where this recording is from? I would really like to download the full song.

  • Nu Nu great & wonderful team

  • i didnt know the guy from the transporter plays bass

  • Comment removed

  • Wow... that feel against the piano at 3:28 is so perfect, I must've replayed it 50 times already.

  • the real Drum & Bass

  • I really like this kind of music; no set rhythm, just playing. Can anybody else give me more like this?

  • 3 dislikes?? i don't understand the world anymore...

  • Thumb up if you knew this video and/or Mark Guiliana before Borgore sent you!

    ...anyone?

  • @zalmiak, uhm, who is Borgore?

  • @Bearthoughts Borgore is a dubstep artist from Israël. On this twitter account he mentioned Mark Guiliana because he wanted to collab with him. Weird combination, but I think it would be cool.

  • @zalmiak, ok, thanks for telling me. :)

  • @zalmiak Aye,I love Avishai Cohen,and also Borgore.

  • @zalmiak hell yes. and i have no idea what "borgore" is.

  • @zalmiak Sure did! I love this trio. What is Borgore?

  • Comment removed

  • Thumbs up if Borgore sent you here !

  • @MeZnaesMene

I'm glad to see fellow dubsteppers with broad tastes in music. :)

  • @MeZnaesMene he didn't so thumbs down for you

  • What is the name of the full song that solo was taken from?

  • damn to score some thumbs up i could have told you on how many dislikes there are but as a matter of fact there are way to less....mark guiliana rules!!!

  • That $hit was sick!

  • Avishai and Mark Madness

  • The way he play drums is smart, ludic, kinda neurotic, i like it a lot.

  • @zackaell Its not kinda neurotic... If anything, it shows that he is not neurotic. Very healthy. He plays with a way out of suppression. It may make those trying to follow him feel a bit neurotic because his playing is really finding a way through from where others are still stuck.

  • @genemz5 well i have an special use of the word neurotic when it becames to artworks. Also maybe language leap is distorting my speach. Cathartic may be the word.

  • @zackaell Cathartic would be a correct word. Its a process of avoiding becoming neurotic. Neurosis is finding oneself in a state of being mentally stuck. His drumming is having sense of direction and away from getting stuck. Yet, there is always a lingering thought, that next time, it may not happen. That's when a musician begins to fade out and another takes his place.

  • anyone know the crash next to his hats?

  • @JimmyKadesch I think it's a stack... sometimes it looks like there's a tiny little splash cymbal on top of it. I wish I knew, man, I want one too.

  • That is THE SHIT. Weird playing style bu who cares when you shred like that!

  • someone please shoot me in the fucking face. Too awesome

  • @TAOspeedwagon

    done and done

  • IDM

  • Jazz blastbeat. Jaztbeat

  • amazing

  • this is pure ecstasy! speechless...

  • Comment removed

  • his crash next to his hi-hats sound like one of those ones that comes with a kids drum set, but the way he uses it, it works

  • Dear film editor: we are trying to watch the musicians, quit trying to win an Oscar with quick edits.

  • Mark is an alien

    I adore his unique style

    3:30 justifies the title

  • Pure nasty. Wow.

  • 2 people can't comprehend the phenomenal musicianship in this video.

  • Amazing!!! So Omega Amazing!!!

  • what show is this? where can I find it?!

  • Piano player: "yeah, my turn!!"

Bass and Drums: "NO SONG OVER"

  • The bit at 2:15 gets me EVERY SINGLE time!

  • I like Mark's drum 'n bass'ish approach. Kick ass!

  • Great rythm, great artists... just adore it !!

  • This is not madness, this is something wonderfull!

  • whats the name of the band??

  • @zaheer921

    Avishai Cohen

  • @zaheer921 avishai cohen trio

  • crazy...madness...nice ! です.

  • Daayyyiiimmm ....

  • this is baddass....

  • what cymbal is he using for for the one on his right? (not his hats) The one that gives that "trashy" sort of sound...

    any ideas what its called?

  • if you mean the one with the holes, i'm almost sure that it is one of Sabian's effect cymbals. Check on sabian website...

  • Yeah i think it's the o-zone :D thanks :D

  • @ricyarborough the one with holes is an O-zone crash with rivets. but the one by the high hats which is to his left is probably a stack, he probably took his normal crash and put splash on the underside or something, but then again i dont really know im just guessing.

  • yeah that sounds more likely...

i may have to try something like that out!

    Thanks

  • ive never seen these guys before. is it band or solo artists jammin??

  • Solo artists under Avishai Cohen's (bass) direction. I think this band has recorded 2 studio albums thus far. Definately purchase Avishai Cohen - "Gently Disturbed". you'll thank me.

  • I'm in love.

  • Another version: Au7L_kIh4p0 -- provides a map for this version, I think.

Anyway, it's sad if they don't play together regularly anymore, but he'll have time for other projects then. Mark Guiliana with Squarepusher is my Schwarzgerät.

  • wait.. what!

  • Probably my favourite drum solo ever..

  • Mark's Heernt stuff is great too.

  • Absolute destruction. And his grip is fucking retarded! How does he play like that?? But it works..

  • Comment removed

  • which song from ACT is this from?

  • It's Nu Nu, from their Continuo album

  • god. guiliana is something else. just saw him live today. jawdropping

  • I love this dude's playing so much. He's like Dave King and Chris Dave wrapped together with his own special twist. Great stuff.

  • mark is groovy indeed

  • Whoo Boy!!!

  • FANTASTIC! THAT'S IT!

  • OMG!

  • Best drummer ever. Shame Avishai Cohen Trio no longer consists of him. In fact it's a shame they don't have Sam Barsh either. They were all great together and really peaked on Contiuo.

  • @tis2nwod do you know actual "ansamble" of avishais band for this years tour? no info about it on his pages

  • I can't be sure since he's changed the format of his music lately. On his last album it included:

    Flugelhorn - Stephane Belmondo*

    Flute - Lionel Belmondo

    Oud - Amos Hoffman

    Percussion - Itamar Doari

Piano - Avishai Cohen , Shai Maestro

    Trumpet - Stephane Belmondo*

Vocals - Avishai Cohen , Karen Malka

I assume it will be similar, but I'm 99% sure that Shai Maestro will be playing Piano for him. Hope this helps.

  • This is unimportant but this is the second youtube clip of Mark's great playing with him wearing a greyish shirt. It's kinda cool to think he could gain signature by playing in a similar color when he's video recorded. Kinda like Tiger wearing red on Sunday's final round..ha ha

  • absolutely awesome!! scaring!!!!

  • Mark works hard on the fundamentals obviously. when he lets it rip it kills

  • ur right.....Mark is scary....absolut Genius!

  • GENIUS. One of the modern day greats. GENIUS.

  • not just another clinic player

  • No I do not know what you mean...

Did you listen to the end of this song?

    That was 'smashing'

  • Sure. That's one of the strengths of jazz: contrast!

While great rock has great "Drum Smashing" as you put it, a lot of (crappier) rock ONLY has loud drum playing. After a while, too much of anything loses effect. By going from soft to loud and back, Mark makes a much more powerful statement. Listen to any of the greats: Hendrix, Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc., and that contrast is there.

  • Yes. It's about using the WHOLE spectrum.

  • Well, if you put "rock" and "metal" in the same category, there are some, basically jazz drummers, that play with heavy groups.

All three of the bands you listed have amazing contrast, then throw in a few others and thats a sweet group.

  • WOW! I'm speechless......

  • best drummer in the world !!!!

    best dual ever !!!!

  • really?

  • It depends on taste and is individual, but Mark has been my favourite drummer many years from now.

  • please!!! the name of this song!!!!

  • Nu nu

    from the album continuo
