Both versions are good, but I think I prefer Adam's because it's more unique and emotional. I don't know how to explain it, but when Adam Lambert sings those lyrics, it's like he means every word he says, like he's living and feeling that song. Kris has a very nice voice as well, but it's more conventional singing.

Well!!! there is a reality about Kris Allen. He hits every note very right without a single mistake. Singing in high octaves doesn't mean singing perfectly right and smooth, but Kris got it all ( Musician, singer, talent). i really enjoy his performance. He is excellent and deserves to be an idol..

I think that both songs are good in their own way. I think that this version is about overcoming everything and being positive even through your troubles, and about sympathizing with people going through the same thing. I think that Adam's is about following your dreams and making it through all the obstacles standing in your way. I think they both tie into the meaning of the song.

While it's on my mind...if you really don't like Kris, then could you just watch Adam's videos and say good things about him? I don't go make negative comments in Adam's videos (and, yes, I do listen to him sometimes). I am not saying he's my favorite (the screaming), but I do admit he has amazing pipes if you are into that style. On other songs, where he doesn't scream, he has a beautiful voice. I like Kris Allen's version the best. I felt like Adam Lambert's version sort of missed the message of this song because he almost made it a rock song towards the end. This song seems like it is meant to be an inspirational song, not necessarily a rock song. There's more emotion and inspiration in Kris's version. But this is just my opinion.

Hmm... Compare to Adam, I think Kris sings this song with more ease...probably because he sings it an octave lower. I think I like Adam's version more though because Adam really pushed the high notes in his rendition (which is much harder to do), and that, in turn, embedded more power and emotion into his performance. Anyway...great job to both. ^_^

I like Adam and Kris - they both seem like lovely people and are both talented singers. That said - I loathe this song. Neither of them sound their best singing this tripe. But both do a good job with what they have to work with. Adam has the edge slightly because he turns this standard Idol vanilla bumpf into something a little more moody and edgy. But Kris isn't a "moody edgy" artist so he interprets it the only way he can for his style.
