I think it would have upset the people who didn't care much for the Susan/Caspian pairing overtones in this movie LESS if they'd kept this scene in and deleted the kiss part. Personally, I'm not a BIG fan of them as a couple exactly, but I don't mind it despite being a hard-core fan of the books. It just strikes me as odd that andrew thought deleting this scene and leaving in the kiss made it seem less romantic so that it wasn't as in your face. I think it should be the other way around.

@bffh123 I disagree. The kiss was more "open romance" than this was.

To me, this scene actually kept fairly well with the spirt of the book because it reminds me a lot of Susan's archery competition with Trumpkin in the book, only here it's with Caspian instead. Even some of the dialogue (minus the flirting, of course) is similar to that if you compare the two.

I wish they'd kept this in, to be honest.

@lovetolovefairytales Actually the kiss is more symbolic then people realize. It's mainly Susan kissing her childhood goodbye, since she'll no longer be going back to Narnia.

@darkangel15000 I get that it's symbolic and all that, and I personally don't mind it, but, like I said, I think it would have been a little better if they'd deleted it and had this scene instead (because then perhaps they could have found some other way to symbolize her growing up and moving on, one that people would knit-pick at less). Yeah, to me, I think the kiss just foreshadows her "grown-up" behavior in Last Battle (should the movie series get that far...I hope, I hope...LOL).

You don't exactly have to have more skill for a regular bow, you just have to have more arm strength to propel the arrow further and faster. But, I agree with azgone34 in that it is a bit lazy. But, you could also look at it as being an easier way to kill, using minimal effort.

i know y they deleted the scene, i think, they messed up, susan is holding the arrow on the wrong side and u can totally see its computer generated, but with the other scenes she is holding the arrow on the right side and it doesnt look like its computer generated
