@KineticRuler No, you don't have to, but to truely appreciate the movie it helps to watch a bit of the series. The movie takes place before the last episode of Cowboy Bebop, so you can watch 10 episodes and not be missing out on anything when it comes to the movie. You really should watch the whole series though. It is an amazing anime in my opinion with a great cast of english voice actors. You'll dig it.

I just recently watched the movie. I wasn't that impressed with it. It wasn't that great, but it was still good. I wish they made it during the series because it's hard to see that Spike's alive when everyone knows he dies XD.

Ghost in the Shell is a better movie than Bebop imo; the bebop series is possibly the best anime (and the only one I can watch, barring GitS:SAC) but the movie went down hill in the second act and never recovered

if you're just on about the voice acting then yeah, it's never good, though Spike is probably as good as it gets

@TyKun04 You clearly haven't seen where Naruto has gone. The sheer depth of it's plot is absolutely amazing. Yes it's childish at first, but think of it this way. The first few Harry Potter books/movies are kiddy, right? That's because they're centered around kids. Well early Naruto is centered around an immature little moron who knows nothing about how the world works. Where the manga is now? It's downright fucking impressive. Don't dismiss Naruto out of hand.

It really doesn't have anything to do with the main series, so I'd just recommend watching it after watching the series itself, or right before the last few episodes if you want it to be in chronological order
