  • @tattoodfreeek He is cheating because he is using the momentum of his legs to get himself up. Its known as kipping. The point of a pull-up is to exercise the muscles in the back, mostly the lats. Kipping disengages the back muscles and makes it easier to do the rep. Its it more useful in the real world? Probably. Is it a pull-up in the exercise sense of the term? Hell no

  • @warrior7351 I understand what you mean, it's more of a compound exercise than isolation exercise that you'd get from a straight up and down motion, but then surely any movement that puts strain on a muscle done for repetitions would be an exercise??
