If the government wants to burn a giant pile of money, why don't they just not get the money in a big pile to begin with and just lower taxes and increase minimum wage?
Someone tell me how billions of dollars given to "the economy" is supposed to help it? Who is "the economy"? What will "the economy" do with the money? Maybe I'm just dumb, but it sounds like they are just making the rich richer and the poor poorer.
i was against bush giving 700 billion dollars to the the wall street banksters,and i'm against obama printing a trillion dollars and giving it away.they are killing the dollar.these stimulus packages are the biggest frauds known to man.BUSH + OBAMA = THE SAME
I agree 100%, both stimulus packages are killers on us and the dollars value. Why don't we instead get rid of truly useless spending like the billions of dollars spent on trying to prove or disprove life on Mars or other planets and reduce our national deficit, then maybe increase the dollars value again. Maybe then we could also do something about the ridiculous bonus packages some of these CEOs get and bring prices down to a reasonable amount so people could afford to buy "American Made".

Just like giving a gambling addict money for groceries...money for a bank or any other money management company? Just more grocery money you're putting at risk, regardless of who is president.
