  • GRANDES RECUERDOS DE NIÑEZ

  • I also loved the antique cars near it at the beginning of the video, must look pretty neat with

the old cars, then coupled onto the passenger cars too! You'd think you were in a time warp!

  • I haven't seen this engine in a long time. Nice to see it again! Hopefuly it will come back up

    around Syracuse New York sometime!

  • Parabéns pelo video e muito show essa locomotiva. abraços

  • I was a huge fan of trains when I was a little child and now i think im getting back to it.

  • is emotion from beginning to end and great to go back and see these wonders fuming today and congratulations for the video. hugs friend.

  • Superb!! I've never seen a steam film or vid with old cars in it. Where is the Bel-Del annual weekend??? (don't assume everyone knows the jargon) Thanks for this!!

  • Great sound!!! Fun in your re-creation of older time trains. Ending night shot is a good bit of fun & nostalgia. Thanks for posting!! :-)

  • wonderful its going on my favorite list

  • In the video, the stream train reminds me of the film "The Polar Express".

  • q chato

  • i've been taken myself to west virginia at the cass scenic railroad to help shay 5, 11, 6, 2, 4, and heisler 6.

  • the video needs to be taken

  • Ver funcionando al 100% una locomotora de vapor, sera siempre algo escepcional, sin igual.

  • ese tren parece que funciona al vapor

  • my only issue with this is the modern cars... everything else is great... :) (Although it gets you thinking... what if steam had stayed?... )

  • @SavetheKKRR2011 Very true...

  • @SavetheKKRR2011 Very true...

  • I would give any thing to have live back in the day this baby was running. So I could learn to run her.The section where she come under those bridges is the most thrilling part.

  • WOW!! I dont care how many time i watch this it alaway gives me thrills.I can just feel the raw power.I just love her.she so mighty.

  • Nice video like, like, like. Its a cool locomotive.

  • excelent video...!!

  • One of the very best videos about locomotives I have seen so far. Great work.

  • que tren mas hermosoooooo guaooooooooooooo que envidiaaaaaa

  • Muito chic

  • She needs some Chrome on her.and DAM it aren't them car a little close

  • I would have though the world had come to an end if i would have been a Indian and never had seen are very heard such a sound I think i would have thought .shit i don't know what i would think.but As I set hear watching this Locomotive coming down the track at me I can feel it. I WANT TO RIDE ONE

  • Now I know why there so many song about trains.but the trains of today cant come close to these.I mean the POWER IT as though its A LIVE

  • LORD I love the sound of the Whistle, and the chug a chug a .Dam it can ya hear the power and feel,at 1:58 even though its just a video, it still takes your breath away.try this put some head phones on an turn up the volume

  • great scotts what would it have been like to had never seen something like this back in the 1800 and at 2 am in the morning you hear the sound of that whistle and see that Big black thing coming at you LOL

  • I had this full volume and that whistle in the beginning pretty much spooked me till the brink of wherever you go went that kinda stuff happens.

  • I love it. Thank you!

  • beautifull

  • beutifull

  • Beautiful. Thank you.

  • Definitely one of the best steam train videos I have seen.

  • Haunting whistle...I LOVE IT!! :D

  • Exciting!!!!!

  • @RocketRodder Horrible. They squeal a 7th, I recall. Or is it a fifth.

Not a harmonious chord as American locomotivesound.

My wife is from mainland China. She say Chinese do not care.

It would require a littlefforto tune the whistle. They would not bother. No pride.

    Lousy is good enough.

  • So glad thathey replaced the horrible Chinese whistle with an American whistle.

  • @robertgift Is the Chinese whistle really that bad? (I've never heard one so...)

  • huahh

  • Oh what memories of decades gone by. Thanks so so much for posting. For a short time here, I was a little boy living back in the 40s and 50s. Well, one can dream can't he?!

    Ole Johnny B.

  • It sounds like strasburg's 90

  • @DarkMouseyFan114 90 has the exact same whistle

  • esevideoel tren esunaestrella famosa

  • All these old trains looks like as they have a living soul.

  • I LOVE old trains!

  • @laurenfan4 Yes, steam locomotives are elegant targets for military weaponry. The headlights make fantastic targets for rifle shots!

I will wait until that new unit rolls over an hydraulic ram left in the switch frog of a mainline switch at high speed! Or a 3" schedule 80 pipe with a cast iron elbow positioned so it won't slip out of position when hit from the approaching direction.

Up & over the side, then steam locomotive fall down go boom!

The end of an error & happiness in the scrap yard.

  • @barronzm Great! Glad to have you on board! Delighted to know you agree that the steam locomotives should all be graffiti painted, junked, stripped of parts, cut apart & melted! I am so glad you agree!

You don't have to hide your true feelings by posting a comment & then deleting it to hide it from this "save all the steam locomotives" crowd! You probably thought that deleting your post would remove it from everyone's visibility.

Would you like me to publish what you actually said? It is easy!

  • @laurenfan4 Wrong, wrong, wrong! I prefer to use them for training field military weaponry target shooting. Nothing beautiful or elegant about them! They produce so much particulate matter, we will not allow them into our town. The museum had to shutter that part of the track, now we are working to shutter the other direction. Won't be long, a steam locomotive with no place to run!

It is the end of the line for the steam locomotives! Now, use them as targets by military fighters!

  • Some really great shots of a nice locomotive. The vintage cars in several of the shots is a nice touch too!

  • wow that was a great video I loved shot number two amazing scenery.

  • Great to see some of the old trains. Thanks

  • @laurenfan4 Regardless of what they can burn, it would still be better to cut them apart & melt them.

When melted down, they make so much material for new products.

They may be cheaper to fuel, but they remain grossly inefficient for the energy they consume & produce so much particulate pollution as a whole, the public does not want them to operate ever again!

Graffiti paint, part out, junk, cut apart, send to a foundry, into an induction furnace & melted down!

    Junk the steam locomotives!

  • dwd free full: /watch?v=oYyVtQHtwwo

    train simulator 2011 update june

  • wore out the whistle and had to get a new one!

  • ITS JUST A TRAIN!!!!!

  • It seems that cockroach is just a roach who likes to suck cock and is an eco freak how about you go smoke some weed and go save some whales crackhead!

  • DAMN!!! When does this happen? I'd love to catch this!!!

  • The times when USA was still a great nation...

  • excellent footage, many thanks,

  • This video captured a by gone era. It is if someone ripped a hole in time and brought us back to an era of simpler time that was full of hope. fantastic.

  • wow those old trains, cool thanks man

  • GREAT VIDEO I THINK THAT ONE CAR WAS ALITTLE CLOSE AT 3:40

  • Very very nice*

  • nice direction of histrical cars ,fine draft sound , Great works 5*

  • nicely done!

  • If they still used that sound of the horn in todays train that would have been epic xD

  • I Love the sound of that thing chuggin. Great Video!

  • зщктщ шы иуееук ЖВ

  • this is a great video, but next time when trying to pull an old style photo freight try and find a gondola that doesn't have a great big yellow CSX on the side

  • they americanized these ?

  • Nice. Steam engines have a haunting whistle sound.

  • I rode the Bel Del with my Grandma in 2004. Nice ride.

  • what kind of steam engine could we build in the 21st century??

  • @shytown51 Something comparable to a wardale 4-8-4 or the like, really any steam locomotive design with mechanical refinements. Wardale and Porta figured out that if you apply improved valvegears, anti-friction bearings, developed exhaust ejectors such as lempor, kylpor or Lemprex, GCPS air-inlets in the firebox, raised boiler pressure, improved pistonvalves, and so on, that you could create a clinkerless, free-steaming engine that can easily outhall any modern motive power.

  • A famosa Maria Fumaça...

  • I love the 142, glad the Bel Del runs her! Think I'll get the Bachmann model. :)

  • music

  • Very Cool video

  • The sound of a steam whistle is one of the most beautiful sounds in the world!!!

  • Awesome video with great sound. Thanks for sharing this.

  • great scenes but I dont understand why the had modern lettered cars such as the CSX gondola we all know CSX wasnt around in the steam era why not repaint it or find period era painted cars for a true correct photo freight Please Done Get me wrong this is an Awsome site to see I in No way am putting this down but I am a bit of a purist when it comes to correctness in th freight cars on the photo freights and Yes I know its a Chineese steam engine but it looks and sounds Damn good

  • and the carbon emission on this thing is....

  • @basketBallboy235 less than the trucks and cars it can replace.

  • @LycoValleyRRFan it looks very dirty and old

  • @basketBallboy235 Made in China in the 80's It's a Chinese loco. Plus smoke builds up when they are stop because they is not a force(the steam coming out that makes that chug sound when moving that creates a draft and pulls that smoke out.) pulling the smoke out till it starts to move. Plus just one of the cars (freight) it pulls can hold as much cargo as 3-5 trucks (a truck can pull around 30-40 tons) and that loco can pull 30 rail cars (on a small grade it can pull more on flat land).

  • @basketBallboy235 continue... That loco puts out a much pollutions as 5 trucks and 1 truck put out as much pollution as 4-6 cars. To think that that loco can put 30 loaded cars (total weight of the train including the loco would be about 4,000 TONS not lbs)That is about 150 off that road (using about 200 psi of steam to move that train) and there are passenger cars that can haul 145 people in one car (but it is for commuting not cross country travel. Most car for that can haul around 80....conti

  • @LycoValleyRRFan I suggest you look up the work of David wardale, he made narrow gauge 4-8-4's in africa outhall any diesel and electric locomotive ever made with more fuel economy with only a few refinements, different exhaust ejectors, firebox modifications, pistonvalve modifications, etc. a 3'6" gauge 4-8-4, after his work was applied, produced 5500 horsepower and her fuel economy was raised by 40 percent in both the combustibles and water categories.

  • @basketBallboy235 sorry for the long feed back. but those car that can haul 80 people with just 11 of them you could haul more people than the worlds biggest plane (in terms of how many ppl it can haul). you figure how many less cars that is. Also I was wrong trucks(the normal not the special trucks haul around 20-30 tons. So yeah.

  • @basketBallboy235 Trains are America, trucks and planes can't do anything compared to the mighty locomotive! Steam was king, and still is, Diesels don't give any emissions, hauling anything, 4 GEVOS could haul up to 104 HEAVY tonnage cars. While a Semi can haul 1 53' trailer. I rest my case. (1 UPRR FEF-3 could pull 90 cars).

  • i love the sound of a steam train chugging out of a station.

  • me encanta este video

  • that really starts up smooth and fast

  • @KyleVideoDesigns yah its cool listening to one of these start a mine run there in China I was in a place and listened for almost an hour while the engineer struggled to get the train stated without the use of any helpers he spun the drivers on several occacions moving foward little bits at a time untill he got the train moveing on wet and or frozen rails it was the dead of winter there I believe it was in Juanan (probilly mispelled that)China but there sure was alot of stacktalk awsome to hear

  • @KyleVideoDesigns it was in Fuxin China where i saw one of these struggle to get the mine run started I said Juanan but it ws Fuxin there is a video on here of the very same thing I mentioned called SY strugeling but these are awsome engines to watch working its cool to see one here painted up in American livery with the corrrct black underframe they are all red in China and some have red stars above there boiler

  • In the 1940's we'd ride the Lehigh Valley RR from Newark to Hazleton PA .. very much like this engine .. the passenger train was called the Black Diamond (coal -- anthracite coal) Everyone was proud of the Lehigh Valley RR . The steam train stopped at Mauk Chunk (Jim Thorpe) and a gasoline powered engine took us over the Broad Mountain to Hazleton. The most awesome train was the 20th Century Limited (Chicago to NYC) .. You could hear that lonesome whistle for miles across the prairies

  • good looking SY class 2-8-2 I have photograhed a bunch of these in China last year on mine runs the newest one being built in 1999 I sure wish the Chineese ones had whistles this pleasing to the ears most of them used a airhorn more than the real high pitched whistle nothing this pretty sounding and it sure looks good with the black drivers lined in white compared to its Chineese counterparts with red underframes an drivers what I witnessed in China could have been this in 1940 but it was 2009

  • WOW, that was a quick start-up!

  • Because of this vid my 3 yrold verbally recreates this whistle when ever he plays with his trains. and this is one of his most watched train vids too.

  • A very nice video and a fine engine. Well filmed and edited. Thumbs up! :)

  • These where built back in the day when it was ok to be a Man and woman where happy about it. Ask one of these train engineers if they have had sexual orientation sensitivity training.

  • Love how this chinese engine is americanized!

  • problem with trains.... you can't drag race em lol.

  • @alfazomb Au contraire - There's at least one steam engine drag race video on Youtube.

  • THIS IS JUST CLASSIC .GREAT VIDEO. THANKS FOR POSTING CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM BOSTON .U.S.A.

  • i like the rhythm , now iam gonna - must -play some hoboblues with my guitars...........

  • @ferdinandmagret If yeah want to copy some Steam sounds: Copy Jethro Tules Locomotive Breath; I've heard a lot of good guitar versions but nothing beats ORIGINAL Locomotive Breath. Copy the best!

    HighPriest

  • it sounds great ,looks well and beatutyfull, fine fine ,gently greatings

  • Man, I miss these old trains. thank you

  • Wow super filmik .

  • i love that chugging sound

  • Great - specially liked the O. Winston Link bit with the night-time run-by. He would have been chuffed to death to see it! . . Alan

  • hermoso

  • I want that one!

  • Jak patrze na to cudo to mam ochotę zostać kolejarzem>

  • Nice Stack Talk

  • Amazing video...

  • Great sound!!

  • The sound quality is absolutely superb.

  • Very good video. I especially liked the run-by with the locomotive reflected in the puddle of water - good planning and execution. Also, the run-by between the two antique cars - clever idea, suspenseful and nostalgic. Keep up the good work. Well worth watching and re-watching.

  • Where is here?

    This loco looks like SY-style...

    Why SY-style is there?

  • @RailKingJP A handful of SY's were shipped to the U.S. Including this locomotive. This is 1 of 3 meant for the U.S. the only other one around and alive is now in Essex, CT number as 3025 on the Valley Railroad. The 3rd one so I have heard is sitting on the bottom of the ocean somewhere.

  • @TCRStaff yes, locomotive # 141 is sitting on the bottom of the Indian ocean, the ship carrying it sank in a storm.

  • that cloud looks toxic, lol

  • HOLY FUCK IS THAT A TRAIN?? I THINK ITS A FUCKING TRAIN GUYS. IM GOING TO CUM SERIOUS FUCKING BUCKETS HOLY SHIT THAT STEAM ENGINE, WHISTLE, AND THOSE WHEELS PUT TOGETHER GIVE ME A RAGING HARD ON. WHOO WHOO, CHUKKCHUKKACHUKKACHUKKA

    FAP

  • @ tonbonthemon cabron e idiota. pajerooooooo¡¡¡

  • @tonbonthemon cool!!

  • Marvellous to see the old beauty still running! Reminds me of my childhood in East Africa, going on 48 hour journeys on the narrow-gauge line from Dar es Salaam to Mwanza, hauled by British-made locomotives.

  • LOVED IT! I love steam engines .. My son loves them ...we both enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for posting :)

  • The men that worked the trains back then were real men rugged tuff men that could handle heat storms and freezing cold in one trip awesome. It took a special person a different breed to work those trains back then. I think we are missing that in our society today.

  • One of the best whistles I have heard on U Tube. Royal Hudson 2860 good, too

  • LOVE that WHISTLE!!

  • ioiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii9uoiu;o8yu8yutdkbfdkvuudutuvuttevdvvivi75er7v5i7rrrvuru6rvir6rv6r7i6r6r7i6r6r6rv6r6r86r6urvruytyrrkucfkkdhfgjdhftgtfghhjkjkihfdewssdfgttjktretyy

  • Man steam whistles give me chills, seeing it coming from a train is always astonishing.

  • @Jason9811 Yeah. I grew up with them too

  • So Great

  • que grandeeee

  • the 1 or the second whistles are not the orginals i say put the orginal on!

  • Amazing stack talk these smaller engines have!! Awesome vid!!!

  • loved that vid - im british as well

  • scrap the cockaroach is the REAL answer! schmuck

  • Beautiful, love the setup with the antique cars too, really sets the scene.

    Where is Bel-Del anyway?

The SusyQ has one of the Chinese engines (unless that is the one) that I've

seen once or twice up in Syracuse N.Y. Nice engine!

  • Can you just imagine what it must of been like to see them everyday..

  • Let's scrap Cockroach and make him an organ donor! Best recycling there is.

  • Glad you replaced the POS Chinese whistle.

No people in the passenger car?

  • Superb, very nice. Thanks.

  • Amazing , Awesome !

  • Did someone borrow a time machine to make this video ?,,,lol

  • Que buen video. ¡¡felicidades!!

  • Oh man this video gives me a boner!

  • Unless they were making money running a legitimate consist, moving cars for the host railroad, they should have run some more vintage looking rolling stock if they could have found it. The flat cars, the CSX gon and the rail box just don't cut it. It would have been nice and period correct to have found some bilboard 40' boxcars or the like.

  • @TheEldoradoKid

Actually the cars, as far as their age, are just right for this locomotive since it's about 20 years old. What bugs me are the vintage American vehicles in front of the "new" Chinese steam locomotive. Somehow it just doesn't seem right.... Still, nice locomotive.

  • My 2 year old son loves to watch this. Thanks!

  • Awesome!

I never heard 142 talk like THIS , the crew really do a good job with her and the Reading 6 chime adds to it, it just SCREAMS mainline steam in the east!

  • Nice video !

  • Awesome vid! There is something magical about a steam engine. Thanks!!

  • 1 time, i rode on 142, and b4 we went to go bak 2 da station, i got in the caboose. It was amazing.

  • Joe, Block Cockroach2008.

  • awsome video I am NOT Putting it down so please forgive me but for God sakes if you are going to stage a period looking run with old autos and all take out the modern freight cars or at least re letter them CSX wouldnt have been around in the steam era I saw that great night shot in here screwed up by a modern CSX gondola and the Railbox letterd boxcar in the lead half of the train I am sorry but I guess I am a purist but on that same note I wish the SYs I shot in China had a whistle like this

  • nice looking SY class I just returned from China and saw a bunch of these in everyday service including one in a rebuild shop undergoing a rebuild

  • love it grate sound...

  • That's not fucking good for the environment, but who gives a fuck lmao

  • sweet sounds

  • !:D

  • I went here

  • This looks like a normal train i love it its sweet looking best model ever

  • THIS is STILL THE BEST VIDEO

100+ TIME VIEWER STEAM FREAK STEVE...IN cANADA

  • Oh wow, love the whistle!

  • estaba buscando precisamente esto, los sonidos del tren. Muchas Gracias

  • neat vid 6 stars Is the track still there? Doesn't look very used or maintained

  • that is the sweetest sounding steam engine on youtube.

  • @Nec1228 You mean one of the sweetest sounding engines.
