October 25, 1991, 20 years ago Bill Graham saw them in concert in the SFBA. Then he took a helicopter ride to see another musician. But the copter crashed and Graham died. Big Bay Area musicians performed in a benefit concert shortly afterwards. Eddie Money dedicated I'll Get By to Him.
Love this one from '91. I think someone said this was their last hit, but does anyone remember "100 Years From Now" off their Greatest Hits in '97? Radio stations around here gave it some play.
Huey's Dad was Irish and from Boston Mass. His Mother was from Poland. Huey was born in Cal and went to school there. Then his parents divorced when he was 13. He went to the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. I guess that is where he gets the N.J accent from.
I'm glad I got to see this tour at Great Woods, Massachusetts, summer of 91. They rocked They have a sound that could never be duplicated and I'm just glad I got to see them in their prime.
I remember as a kid writing down all the songs i loved (born 1975) and i would go out and buy them, these days i have a hard time finding 1 good song out there, its really a sad thing to see how society, and music is going down the shitter. Time machine anyone?
@TCB12453 haha, yeah i agree even though i was born 1980, but your right if i knew the music and the people were such assholes like they are now I would take a time machine!
@TCB12453 i've got a Delorian with a flux capacitor u or anyone else wanna go back with me? one of my all time favorite bands. definately one of the best from the 80's love me some bryan adams and hall & oates. music 2day sux with artist like beiber.
@bobafettfan32 right on.... and love DOES hit ya like a hammer!! let's rock.... make sure to pick me up on your voyage back to the greatness of 80'sville :) cheers!!
I couldn't agree more, I finally got to me him and stopped to take a pose with me in a pic just before his concert in Souther Calif. I went to see him in concert at least 6 times. But I love this song as the best hits and agree it should be included in his greatest hits. It's just to bad he didn't put this album out before that era, or his era was starting to make it's exit in captive audience and fans. He is truly a classic and deserves greater respect along with the original band members.
@rpwilbur born in New York then his family relocated to Mill Valley however he went to school in New Jersey and was accepted to Cornell in Ithaca... then he went to Europe
Huey Lewis and the News is the best band to ever come out of Canada.
I knew Huey and used to fish cod off the Atlantic coast with him before he made it big.
His fishing flesh rod was legend.
We used to pound every fat maritime vag sponge we could and his wife never had a clue..what with us always smelling like two day old artic char.
He wrote not long ago..saying he didnt miss our time at sea and how all the blowjobs from gold digging groupies in the world couldnt suck away that fishy smell.
I smashed my cock in the refrigerator door in attempts the get it swollen to the size of Huey's. I succeeded but now my wife won't gobble my bulbous gobstopper because it's so deformed. I'm not gay but I have a friend that is. Maybe I can pay him to sap the syrup out of my backed up meal bag. Not gay...just sayin'.
Sweet Sweet Connie said Hueys cock was the biggest she ever sucked. I auditioned Connie for a dj position. She never offered to let me coat her gizzard with my cocksnot so I didn't hire her.
I love Huey and the News.. no one sounds like them. Alot of bands in the 80's were all about being different.. nowadays.. things just seem regurgitated. This is one of my favorite songs.. it's not featured on the Greatest Hits.. I think they should include this song if they were to do another Greatest hits..
Good effort from HL but they were past their best by 91 which was a shame. Great music, great times, I wish there were quality bands like HLATN around today.
Great song! Underrated.

What a pity the 90's grunge and brit pop came along and killed off "clean rock" like this.
