How to shoot rifleman on an Appleseed AQT

I just got it on my own property, got a 210 with 47 out of 50 on the standing. Probably could have done alot better on last stage, i was rushed and I did good on the first 3 400m targets but on the last one I missed twice and barely hit the 6 on my 3rd try, so i'll probably do good next time but i guess i can't brag until i actually do better. No wittiness and on my own property so i still don't have the patch, time to go to an another appleseed!

Nothing like an Army Qualification. More like a scaled down NRA High Power match.

@HWyman1775 yea Im not exactly sure what the origin is, but they call it a simulated AQT

@IssunQuixotic It's the test they used back in the day. The current Army test has removed the longer distances but the USMC test is still pretty similar to the old AQT.

Great video! I recently attended an appleseed, my instructors called me lucky. I shot Rifleman my first attempt, i proved to them it wasn't luck by doing it again. But out of the fourteen adults shooting with me I was the only one to successfully achieve Rifleman. I am only 15, I loved the course so much i want to attend another one!

@popman000100 that is quite the feat! less than ten percent of participants attain rifleman is what they usually say at each appleseed, so to do it twice on your first try is really impressive! you should take some footage next time to show us what youre doing right!

@mpwarrillow we were shooting paper targets with a large open field as the backstop, so the bullets were impacting around 150-250 yards out in the field as they fell

also this is on private property with only one person shooting... Im probably more likely to injure my eyes from driving with the windows down

I just went thru my first appleseed this weekend. I suck as a shooter, but I suck MUCH LESS due to the training I had. I profited IMMENSELY from the training. The best part was USING YOUR BODY to find the NPOA rather than muscling the rifle around to aim each time. That and the breathing got my groups tighter and more on target than ever before. I would recommend anyone take this course.

@tanstaafl72555 glad to hear of your experience! It took me three appleseeds to finally get rifleman and I still feel like I have miles to go before I would consider myself a rifleman in full, but just taking that first course changes everything! Good luck on getting your patch!

I have never gotten bonus points for shooting irons. All I got was a better feeling of self worth/ accomplishment.

well I can shoot better/faster than I can do math thats for sure!

and dont know why I was shooting on that mat, kept getting in the way!
