As was already said, Spot could be translated many ways. For the question about why translate the name in the first place, well in Czech language, calling him Spot would sound weird, but Punťa or Flíček are cute and common czech names for a cat.

funny to know that :) my cats name was spot :) but when i saw that on czech, i allways called it punt'a (and: on many websites, my nickname is puntja :D

@querschnitt Well Puňta is czech pet name wich origin from word punťík wich mean spot :-) In old dub version spot was called Flíček

in czech language spot means many of meaning and in different translate call him flíček (vlitschek) so i ask if he don't named flíček not punťa

i am german :)

when i bought this dvd, i saw that there is the czech language on it.. i watched it for a few moments and i found that scene, i think it's so funny, that they translated spots name :D
