I guess there will be more tags sold every year. I guess what you don't understand is that they will continue to raise the tag limits until they reach the desired amount of wolves killed. If it takes 1 million tags to get 1000 wolves killed that is what Fish and Game will do, or they will remove the need for a tag altogether. Buying tags and not using them will not work. It is really just a waste of your money. Coyotes can already be shot without tag or license.

nonstereo- Coyotes have been hunted and trapped as long as wolves have been. Wolves were never killed off or exterminated in Canada and they still have massive coyote populations.
Coyotes are just much more prolific and have higher pup survival rates. No need to state facts that are not proven.

If you ask the ranchers that border Yellowstone they will tell you that since wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone coyote populations on bordering ranches have doubled and now there are wolves as well.
I live in the country every day I see coyotes they are about 100 yards from sheep. They have never attacked them ever in the 30years the sheep have been there. They walk past over 20 horses never bother them A. Coyotes are differnt or you and the rest are scared of them attacking and lieng.

Welcome to the reality of living with wolves. Here in the U.S. they have reintroduced wolves at an alarming rate. They have slain sheep,cows,horses and household pets,what makes people think it will stop there.There hasn't been that many wolf attacks in the lower 48 for many years, then again most of the wolves in the lower 48 have been dead since around 1920 or so. No wolves = no attacks. It's coming people expect it and if you own a ranch like myself in Idaho or Montana bring your pistol.
This incident made me so sad. I remember seeing the pups from our boat when they were a few months old. The adults were properly wild and shy of people, but the babies grew up getting handouts and never learned to avoid humans.

If it takes 1 million tags to get 1000 wolves killed that is what Fish and Game will do, or they will remove the need for a tag altogether. Buying tags and not using them will not work. It is really just a waste of your money. Coyotes can already be shot without tag or license.

nonstereo- Coyotes have been hunted and trapped as long as wolves have been. Wolves were never killed off or exterminated in Canada and they still have massive coyote populations.
Coyotes are just much more prolific and have higher pup survival rates. No need to state facts that are not proven.

I wasn't refering to wolves or coyotes in Canada actually. I was replying BruceH59's comment about coyote attacks in eastern states like Rhode Island, where wolves are extirpated. I know there's always been massive coyote populations in NA but when wolves were killed off coyotes got more brazen. I live in the Pacific NW (Washignton State), and I've seen the damage coyotes are causing firsthand. And when wolves were brought back to Yellowstone, the coyote population there was cut in half.

nonstereo- My ranch is in Idaho and I pay for the damage wolves are causing. Wolves kill livestock much more efficiently than coyotes. Wolves do not choose to kill coyotes as their first choice of food. Mostly they just push the coyotes around. If you ask the ranchers that border Yellowstone they will tell you that since wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone coyote populations on bordering ranches have doubled and now there are wolves as well.

I live in the country every day I see coyotes they are about 100 yards from sheep. They have never attacked them ever in the 30years the sheep have been there. They walk past over 20 horses never bother them A. Coyotes are differnt or you and the rest are scared of them attacking and lieng.

Then you well have to face reality and see how Mother nature cures over population it is slow horrible death. It has been passed to the wolves already in certain area. Welcome to the reality of living with wolves. Here in the U.S. they have reintroduced wolves at an alarming rate. They have slain sheep,cows,horses and household pets,what makes people think it will stop there.There hasn't been that many wolf attacks in the lower 48 for many years, then again most of the wolves in the lower 48 have been dead since around 1920 or so. No wolves = no attacks. It's coming people expect it and if you own a ranch like myself in Idaho or Montana bring your pistol.
