The fake bunt lures the 3rd basemen in about 6 feet so that when I the baseball slightly over his head with a controlled swing he will not be in a position to catch the surprise Texas leaguer (short pop fly). A base hit is the result. This play can work vs any infield positon. I taught this one to my son who used it in a 16U USAAA tournament last month to draw in the 2nd basemen and then proceeded to hit it over his head for a single that started the game winning rally.
