Dope ass beat. Definitely a good use of talent here. Nice work on those chops. Hows FL9? I still use FL8 xxl I'm pretty hooked to that and acid for my chops.
@LordFerrand......appreciate the positivity !! Im onto using reason now but working the 9 til 5 is fucking with my beatmaking time.Still use fl9 the improvements are good !!
thanks for listening and looking lol im using edison in fl i was using audition for a while but it was a pain in the arse ! so once edison was on the scene that was that i hardlt touch audition now
thanks alot this comment holds weight because i took time to listen to your production and yours bumps heavy !!! obviously you know your stuff !! i think my stuff might be a bit too stab heavy if you know what i mean! i might need to calm it down spread it out more
ive been messing with slice ex somewhat lately by importing from edison. Are the auto chop options any different for slice-ex. not really loving them for edison
The auto chop tends to chop at peaks. if you want it in exactly equal parts for an MPC/FPC or whatever u need to do it yourself to get the right parts. I still don't know how to envelope samples assigned to the fpc yet so if i need to i just put SliceX into piano roll because you can assign each slice to the mixer seperately (much better than the slicer!) while still enveloping them. It's good for if you want to chop a beat because you can edit one one hit seperately and not spoil the rest
Yeah i know what your saying ! auto chop is lazy Im doing it all manual like ill chop a 4 bar loop say in edison tap out the tempo then ill edit the 4bar chop by hand back in ed then I will throw it into a slicer channel or fpc. I still havent explored slice x yet
I just had a mess about on slice x with a four bar sample that i had already choped for a beat the 4bar sample tempo was 85 and my beat tempo was 88 say for example i threw the sample into the fl slicer channel from edison i can apply the timestretch and up the sample from 85 to 88 pro default to make it bang on ! How do i do that in slicex ? Cause when you use ts in slicer it tells you in the information window top left hand corner how much its going up to match the bpm.
Its all good mate i just sussed it after i sent you that message lol i need to go by the percent instead of the bpm it would be 96.59% so i just right click on the timestrech tab in X and set the time mul setting to 96.59% and that brings 85bpm up to 88bpm thanks man !
i like to autochop just to see what it gives me. then work from there, either adjust or set them all manually. but i tend to have alot of chops that can take a long time without auto. u might as well try slice ex, almost identical to edison but a little more convenient
Yeah i suppose thats beauty of software there are many different ways and means of doing things. See how your saying you tend to have alot of chops do you take the entire song you are sampling and cut loads of little bits out that you like or do you take like four bar and 2 bar loops and then chop them down discarding the rest of the song ? I try to find 2bar and 4bar loops chop them further if i can then piece it together and try and create !
it really depends on the track but I usually like to find a short loop that i can use that works well with some chops. Much of the time the chops will clash with the loop so ill try to do somethings with the loop and start a separate project with the chops. I would normally prefer to sample from an intro or a track that has some time before the drums come in. I ususally dont even worry about finding a loop if im just gonna chop it since its never in order neways.
I prefer to have all my chops on the same channel so i'll sample more than ill use and just delete the parts i dont like. I find that way just makes it easier to have a larger variety of sounds to pull from on the same channel. if i want more control or organization over it all ill clone that channel once or a few times. there are times when i just little bits though.
Nice one bruh

TheFreshPeddler 2 years ago
oh & keep ur style how it is.. but add some different elements.. just be you.. dont be noone else and thanks for checkin out my stuff..
and to TheFreshPeddler - try using slicex.. its like edison but easier to slice and sample specific parts.. u can even edit the pitch easily...
basik0000 2 years ago
yeah i need to look at basslines for samples that not got any bass in them
Liteblufootsoldier 2 years ago
couldn't you just eq most of the bass out
TheFreshPeddler 2 years ago
no im talking about putting my own basslines over samples....im still learning how to eq to good effect

I never used Edison I loaded it once and it looked exactly the same as the sliceX to me I'm not sure is there anything different?

hmmm . only time stretch i used is by right clicking on the slice and going to the tools tab i believe
