There is the biblical one whereby people miraculously spoke (and may still speak today) in intelligible foreign languages -- an ACTUAL language so people could understand the Gospel. The modern-day Pent./Charismatic version is unintelligible mumbo-jumbo - what they call a "private devotional prayer language". Why would God need to grant someone a mumbo-jumbo language?

I'm not sure that you're entirely correct in saying that. There are 5 references in the New Testament that use the word rejoice, but it's root definition in the Greek is to leap with joy. So much for standing still.

It is extra biblical because the New Testament does not show this manifestation as a result from the spirit.
You mentioned King David, He worshipped God according to his culture. He was only despised by his wife.
