Coming from Europe, having lived in Atlanta for two years then moved to Charlotte, I have to say that Charlotte is a really nice place! Compared to Europe Atlanta would be the most boring city in the world! But Charlotte reminds me of Europe in a strange way, and it is not boring at all if you know what to do!

@NCSportsMan70 Dude Statistically speaking Atlanta is "safer" than charlotte. I guess you have never been to atlanta but atl dosent have ghettos anymore. They were torn down years ago and replaced with high priced condos and apartments. But back then The areas that were "ghetto" were a SMALL part of atlanta. Every major city has rough areas but atlantas rough areas are few and far between.

Lowe the city, looks good in person in most boroughs and downtown is just nice. hate it lacks some old structures, I've seen a picture of their old skyline and they could have keep some of their old buildings, but overall the city is awesome. I plan to move there, it's cheap but good looking...

I recently had a chance to visit Charlotte and stay in uptown area as part of National Black Deaf Advocate Conference. I had to say that Charlotte is a beautiful quiant city. So easy to get around downtown. Plenty of food to choose from. Not many entertainment place like Chicago have but still have some entertaining for visitor in Charlotte. Thanks to US Airways and Charlotte for making my visit comfortable.

Charlotte is getting like Atlanta. I heard there is an underground mall Downtown with a mini-Belk department store and specialty shops!! Not to mention a five screen movie complex.

@englishdog1234 It is as good as it looks. No high foreclosure rates, not repetitive suburbs. But that all comes with one price, terrible traffic, but it's not as bad as where I live, PS San Antonio.
