It's funny to read the comments of die hard LR fans, how they spit on this album... probably soaked in heroin, lying alone in their rooms, true rockers my ass.
they defo have chemistry goin awwn and lou looks like he's havin fun. i loved this shit when i was growin up..."you know i love that gpz so much...i could kiss her" lol

Regardless of how one positions 'I Love You Suzanne' against the rest of Lou's body of work -- when this song is cued up, you **cannot** keep from tappping your feet. Hell, It's all you can do to keep from jumping around the room! Not many songs are this infectious. I always take my ipod to the gym, and this is a great warm-up song!
You Know how I got onto Lou? I picked up my brothers tape of "New Senstions" that was lying around, put it in my walkman and played it from begining to end. I was 12 years old (30 now). My eyes opened and I saw the light and have never looked back since. I went on a quest to gather every Lou Reed and VU album I could find after hearing it. Pretty cool video. And for all the haters, remember, this was the 80's when taste went out the window. This holds up pretty well. And What a RIFF!
I was in college when the album debuted. I loved his old stuff and -at first- HATED new sensations. But by the end of the year, it was my favorite album . Lou went in a new, but amazing, direction with his music in this record.
Agreed. New Sensations was no Blue Mask but it was at least trying stuff and a bit of an improvement over Legendary Hearts. Mistrial has a few missteps indeed but since New York, Lou's rarely faltered. This song is a great tune, should've been a top 10 hit!
I actually think this is a great song. Bad 80s drums of course, and yes the vid is ridiculous. Catchy tune though. Lou's last blatant attempt to have a hit. Same time as the Honda commercial. I wonder if Lou even talked to this actress when the director yelled "cut."?
err? Lou? Are you in there? Didn't somebody tell you this was a new version of 'Grease' or whatever? I even tried to love you when you were bad, you mf'r. Still, this one is way out!!! Let's all listen to Lou and hit pinata's! Please don't do this twihihihise,,,,, Ok, I need to rest and get over this now.
Hey, hey....

Notice how the blonde actress doesn't have breast implants, the way all models and actresses do today.

Lou should do some of his 1973 moves on 1:33.

Poor Lou, he would hardly have composed this masterpiece had he known it would be a gym warmup for the plebs. Repulsive.

At the end Lou starts doing the "kicky-step" made famous by Kevin Bacon in 'Footloose.'

This song put Lou Reed back on the music charts. The whole album made him relevant again whether the purists like it or not.

The girl in this video looks like his Factory pal, Edie Sedgewick.
