Oh but the iBooks is pretty good as alot of college book companies are signing on along with some magazine production companies. But this is more of a wait and see item rather than a get now item.
the ipad is only 500, and it looks way smother than any of the tablet here. I'm not saying because I'm a apple fan. however i love the design of the hp tm2. for the half the price of the tm2, i think it would better to get the ipad, for the price.
The MAJOR difference between Apple's tablet and everyone else's will most likely be the touch screen LAG (or lack thereof!). When you're talking about a touch screen PC/Tablet PC, lag is a HUGE factor, because it's pretty much involved in everything you'll do - scrolling, zooming, etc...
That's one of the major factors that sets the iPhone apart from all other touch screen smartphones - the touch display is so seamless and fluid. I've tried out other touch phones, and there's no comparison.
As you can see in pretty much every demo of any tablet @ CES so far, there's always a lag. Even if it's very minimal, like .3 seconds, it's still incredibly noticeable, and annoying, and will be a dealbreaker.
Most tablets and touch computers at this moment suck. I dont know how they dare to present it to the public! :P
Seriously, hey you know what I want..A tablet pc more powerful and less f*cking expensive than the Ipad-slate-slut, and with a dockingstation for at home where if you put it in, it goes from a dual core tablet to a quadcore mid weight laptop!
And of course, the docking station with keyboard and mouse contains a proper 1 TB hard-drive :D
@siciliano29 apple's iPad is just an over-sized iPod Touch/ iPhone. Bottom line, it has a great touch screen but has few tablet features. It's better of as an eBook reader, but the Kindle is way better as an eBook reader so it's shit.
