Being a Christian is often emotional, but it cant be your sole basis, thats risky

It seems to me that The Power of Suggestion is at work in the Charismatic Church (if we can call it that). I'm more so referring to the word "fire" in Acts 2:3. "They saw... tongues of fire..." (NIV). “... He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire" (Matt 3:11). This video is evidence of the fire. Through personally experience, I must contend! Find out for youself... Ask God to baptize you with the Holy Spirit and Fire. "Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find. Knowck and the door will be opened to you" (Matt 7:7).

Its hard to assume of of a single word thats what it meant, but if you use the context of what they usually referred to "fire" as in the Bible it usually talked about cleansing, purity, or testing. Like when paul talked about peoples works being "tested with fire". Baptism of the Holy Spirit cant be assumed to be charismatic emotions. Being a Christian is often emotional, but it cant be your sole basis, thats risky

I'm not sure if calling these people stupid is really fair. They are simply engaging in the sort of ecstasy-inducing ritual that man has performed throughout the ages. Look at the type of frenzy that indigenous tribes people can achieve while performing traditional ritual dances and ceremonies. It is no different from this. It's just a case of man mistaking a completely psychological experience for something that emanates from a supernatural source. Nothing unusual about this.

Until your God makes an appearance and confirms which one of the hundreds of Christian churches is the one true denomination, there is no such thing as a true Christian. Martin Luther simply did what the all the subsequent churches did after him, he interpreted Christian tenets differently than the ones (Catholics) that came before him.

Charisma is a positive aspect of personality that is appealing and magnetically attractive to others. There is nothing magnetic, or appealing about people who spasticaly flail and flop around like a fish out of water. That's about as antithetical to charisma as you can get. LOL

It seems to me that The Power of Suggestion is at work in the Charismatic Church (if we can call it that). The "pastor" in this video is lucky that he got enough dumb people to think that his hand had the conduit powers of God and therefore weakens their knees. I am a Christian (a sane one) and I can tell you right now that this is not the way God wants us to behave. There is nothing real to this and it is possibly the saddest thing I have ever seen.
