funny how this whole commentary is trying to present itself as objectionable, sensible; it attacks all the major media streams but then favors Fox overall and then it just attacks Obama. I have no problem in presidents, governments being questioned by the media or the citizens they are representing, but Fox is not questioning. It attacks without any substance or hard facts. Just a lot of populist rhetoric with statements such as Obama state. Obama care, Obama this or that.
Wow you dressed up the argument to prove the point that your BIASED TOO!!!!!! what a concept. Do you think every body is that stupid? Had to wait until the end to let it out but there it was "big government agenda" "cripple the agenda" do them a favor as a enemy of obamas state. You dressed up your argument to spew your RIGHT WING agenda. I hope your proud You are a Circular Firing Squad!!!!!
That is exactly the point of the clip - there is no such thing as objective journalism. SA@Takimag does not pretend to be objective. He admits he is biased. Would be more honest if the dominant mass media giants simply admitted such too. SA is exactly correct here.
The difference with Fox. They stage political protests (with guns) No other news network does this. Thats why ' oh there is no objectivity' really does not cut it!!!
Excellent piece, as usual. One minor point though:
"The Obama administration's decision to treat Fox News as a political opponent rather than a viable news outlet has angered many conservatives, but not I."
You may be a conservative and I may be a liberal but on this matter I absolutely agree with you. I have no objection to the subjectivity of the different news agencies. I think it is important to hear both sides of any issue. However, the facade of objectivity it frankly insulting.
Oh, and the changing channels line was pretty damn funny too.
Great commentary. The myth of objectivity only facilitates misinformation and propaganda as people are led to believe "the news" is recent history instead of what it is: opinion on current events.
