Her intonation problems stem from her lack of left elbow movement for her string crossing. It is really apparent when she has a tritone between 2 strings to play with the same finger.
Vibrato is a very personal, individualized aspect of playing violin. She will start doing it when she's ready, though there are various methods of instruction to get her started sooner than later.
Hey, guys the notes are not as flat as they seem. The violin is such. If this was done on an electric violin with a roland cube 60 amp, it would sound great. I tried it myself
Yes! There are some intonation problems that are normal for a musician of her age at the time. The good news, is that she has improved to such a caliber now that she studies with a city symphony member! She has also developed a very lovely vibrato as of late, though she might not choose to us it on Vivaldi, as his compositions are best played sans the vibrato if one is going for period authenticity.
Enjoyed your performance of this piece. I am just starting to learn it (and 3rd position) and it was nice to hear it so well played. Keep up the good work!
omg i have to play this tomorrow 4 a tryout this really helped me to see what it sounds like...Thanx oh and by the way you are very good at this song!
As i watched you play, i was reading the music from the suzuki book and you played everything exactly as it was written but your biggest trouble was your dynamics so watch those but other than that it was fantastic. Good Job!
Though she's good, it'd be nice if her teacher showed he what it means to play in the style of vivaldi, nothing against her of course, she can't do something she hasn't been taught. But you can't switch from having some eighth notes short and others long in this style, it's baroque. You do either one or other. Rule of thumb=short eighth, long sixteenth, quarter depends on the context
suzuki's level 4 would mean that this piece can be anywhere from grade 4-6 because the book 1 has grade 2 exam pieces in it so it should around that but i think my bet would be its somewhere around grade 5-6
this piece can be for any grade. it all depends on what grade you started playing violin. i started violin in 3rd grade and i'm just 1 song above this piece. now i'm in 6th grade.
Good job! I'm working on this piece, it is SO FUN! Not that I didn't love all the Seitz, but I need a change of pace. Vivaldi's pieces are so... well... full of dynamics! I love making huge crescendos at the beginning of this piece!
Wow! You're really talented!!! Just a thought though, if you added vibrato and made the notes a little more sticattoy, it would be EVEN BETTER!!!! Great job! Keep playing!
i played this last year for solo and ensemble. i got a 1 (: hahaha i wanted to burn the last page when i was learning the first movement. and same with the 3rd movement.. except that time it was the second page i wanted to burn lol
your bow is so straight - very well done. im learning and just about play with my bow straight lol. inspiration thankyou - your parents must be proud. keep it up.
that good that you support his daughter and son of the people of GOD vivalid of the half is a complicated issue but very nice to hear continue to support her daughter and climb more concerts played very well and continue to grow more, God prosperity throughout Asia and spiritually in Christ Jesus Lord
I love this song! It's very virtuoso-like how Fifi plays it. This is Concerto in A Minor by Vivaldi, is it? She has a good use of vibrato and a pretty fast tempo, plus the song is baroque. Fifi rocks! -Frank
P.S. By the way, why wasn't the whole song on video? Please reply.
Fifi has inherent talent. She has confidence too. God bless your family. I wish more families would bring up their children like you do. There would then be so much more peace and love in this world.
that was great. I can play it except i fumble up on the odd bowings in the 16th sections where there an accented notes followed by 2 slurs then a regular then it repeats itself over and over. I just mess up there. Good job though, keep it up
Love this song! I just got back from one of my lessons (i have lessons 4 times a week and practice 1 and a half hours a day).
I've been playing violin for seven years now, and still going strong. I'm playing this song in the Kiwanis festival competitive class tomorrow I'm REALLY nervous.
you played this song really well. One suggestion: your G# on the D string was a little flat. Also I was taught to play the begining staccato.
that was a beautiful song, the only thing i would say it make most of quarter notes more staccato to add a professional sound to it, but overall that was great :)
My daughter has been studying privately for near 7 years now. A slow start when you're that young, but beginning to pick up now. Thanks for commenting.
Why didn't you play the rest of the piece? You play very fast!

She has not played the whole piece in this video. Why?
actionz133 1 year ago
I would say,
to get a bit beter with intonation,
add some vibrato,
and this piece is made for the lower 2/3 of the bow, so there's no need to use the tip.

case I noticed she does not use enough bow in the quarter notes.
