  • Its off a goldfinger live album

  • I think the reason why everyone thinks this is ska is because it's actually by Reel Big Fish.

  • @PwnHack Wrong its mario bros Mr Bungle cover

  • @Adub0stubb123489 Well, iTunes lied to me..

  • at least I like this because is not that filthy music

  • ...one small thing missing...ska!!!!!!!!

  • lmao

  • walking bass and the guitar style makes it ska, this is just mario with horns

  • Too short ):

  • you know i had a feeling that when I clicked on this video it would be Mr. Bungle. AND IT WAS!!!! Why would you classify this as ska?

  • this is mr bungle, not ska

  • Yeah. NO SKA!!!

  • SAFEWAY?!

  • ska? no ska here...

  • its jazzcore , you most hear the full song

p.s. the song is from mr. bungle , their sound is a mix from ska , funk , swing , dub , jazz , metal , postcore , alternative rock and avantgarde^^

  • its jazz!!

  • where is no ska in this song.....

  • what th hells ska o.O??

  • SKA = fast and emphasis on the up beat

  • what is the name from the music

  • the two higest rated comments are about the same thing ... EPIC FAIL .

  • Says you! You are pissing me off, I don't need to know the band. I learn, through listening, what genre they are, get off your stupid high horse you pugnacious egomaniac.

  • Sounds more like swing...

  • well this is a ska song. It is made by Mr. Bungaloo. For your info ska is a style of music that originated from jazz and swing, which involved many different types of beats. That is why music is great because there are many influences involved and how music evolves and creates whole new genres of music. So yes horns do constitute ska in certain conditions. AND YES THIS IS SKA.

  • @AAAfreak224 If you think this is ska, then you're either legally deaf or you have no idea what ska is. Sure, a lot of ska bands have horns but having horns NEVER constitutes ska in any condition. Also this isn't by Mr. Bungaloo...who ever the fuck that is. If you have no idea what you're talking about, then please refrain from posting ignorant, idiotic comments...it just makes you look like a fool.

  • @DonStirFrye

Woh, calm down! People who started their music career playing ska would agree that rocksteady and ska are so closely related in 2nd wave ska that the artist themselves even found it confusing. We here have the same problem. The band orientation is very close to a 3rd wave ska band. I would have to agree that it is not ska just because horns are playing. If anything it is a punk band with a very heavy rock beat (as in the beats are kept on 1 and 3) with a bit of brass.

  • @tngodzilla379 Did you seriously write all of that out just to say that this isn't ska? LOL

  • @DonStirFrye ya, I kinda did, but I also did so because you seem to be so angry about this subject. When I'm learning a new math subject (which I'm not to found of doing) I prefer to know every little thing, not an overview, but I guess that's just me. I also said what I said to explain that 3rd wave ska is not too different from punk with horns. For all we know they call themselves ska.

By the way, how loud did you laugh out loud?

  • @tngodzilla379 You do realize that there is absolutely nothing punk related in this song at all?

  • @DonStirFrye

Yes it does. The ensemble and rhythm hold a basic new wave punk sound. I have no idea why it couldn't be. What is it then? What do you call The Arrogant Sons of Bitches Then? Or Reel big fish? Heck, Streetlight Manifesto?

  • @tngodzilla379 You sound like a confused little boy if you think there is anything punk about this cover. It seems that you spend too much time reading about musical genres rather than actually understanding them.

  • @DonStirFrye Excuse me? I do not read about music to understand the feel of a song. I have on the other hand gone through a few classes about music itself, the historical facts and genre credibility. Only people who think they are adult and are not would attack another calling them childish. I'm starting to wonder if you have ever pursued an instrument as a profession in your life.

  • @tngodzilla379 Obviously you have not if you think the rhythm of this song holds a "basic new wave punk sound". If anything, it's more rooted in an afro cuban rhythm more than anything even remotely punk related. Do you understand how foolish you sound calling this punk or even in the rhythm of punk?

  • @DonStirFrye Afro Cuban? Not even! That is as far off as it gets! Are you just screwing with me? Calling me foolish won't get you anywhere with me. You can't even seem to answer my questions anyhow. Foolish is a bias with no intellect behind it. Afro Cuban closer to jazz than this song.

  • @tngodzilla379 I've been involved in the ska/punk scene for many years and for you to claim that this is rooted in anything resembling punk or ska is absolutely ignorant and completely ridiculous. Please stop embarrassing yourself.

  • @DonStirFrye Let's see here, being rude is not necessary, but if it makes you feel smarter, then continue that. I think we are thinking of different kinds of ska and punk. From what it sounds like, you are talking about 2nd wave ska. You see, 2nd wave ska is put on the up beats, as you should know. This is fairly obvious because reggae came from second wave ska. 3rd wave ska some of the time will not necessarily fallow this order. but that doesn't make this song ska, I never said it was.

  • @tngodzilla379 Reggae came from second wave ska? Reggae was rooted in first generation ska and second wave ska came after reggae had already been established. Your glaring ignorance is on full display.

  • @DonStirFrye Sorry, I did not mean mean second, though it is my favorite. I'm done with you though, you are rude, and you only seem to make an objection when I make an accident. The only thing I got from you is that you think I am ignorant. If you think you are so right you should have just easily answered my questions. By the way I did looked up Mr. Bungle, the band, it was under funk metal, The made a medley called super mario bros this is the first part, we both were wrong, but I was closer

  • @tngodzilla379 You really are this clueless, aren't you? I knew this was Mr. Bungle and did you seriously have no idea who they are? How were you closer to being right when you had no idea what band even recorded this or who they are? Hopefully this is a lesson well learned to not comment on something you're completely ignorant of as it just makes you look like a fool.

  • @DonStirFrye The other problem I'm seeing is our opinions on what is punk. The punk I am thinking of is a sort that has no metal sound in it at all, so fill me in here on what bands you find punk.

  • omg this song is so badass

  • The band is Mr Bungle. Greatest band ever

  • wats the bands name

  • down with the haterz!

  • they say ths is ska cause ths was played by reel big fish.its on their live album our live album is better thn ur live album.

  • WOW this make me remember of my childhood with a little ska music :D

  • where´s the rest?

  • This isn't actually ska, but it's still awesome.

  • SKA?????? it`s fusion jass or something else,

  • woaaaaaaaa d kn es?

  • check out ulu's version of this song. way better.

  • mr bungle

  • FAITH NO MORE

  • cool song, but this isn't Ska, it's just a cover with horns. :/

No chords on the down beat, not even a guitar at that, and it doesn't have that Ska rythym.

  • oh picky picky

  • @XWillProductionsX ska usually has chords on the up beat.

  • it doesnt even sound first wave. first wave was more like the sound we associate with reggae. this is just...lame.

  • noeska

  • this would be cool... if it were a ska song. seriously, there isn't even a hint of ska rhythm in this song - if anything, this is a disco backbeat.

the lesson? just having horns does not constitute ska music.

  • @skaneverdies thank you, you said it for me.

  • needs more guitar P:

  • 1st wave :D

  • the original itself is kind of ska-ish.

  • lame!!!!!!

  • cual ska we

    no me jodas

  • it is ska but not the kind you are use to its more of a 1st wave kind

  • 1st wave is tha shit

  • @paretobpc

    Faggot haters are dummies

  • dummies are faggots

  • @paretobpc

    Faggot you'r a dummy

  • bah.

  • where's the ska? it has a horn line but no ska

  • what is it??? This pure sh....

  • this is cool, I suck at this game tho XD

  • just because you add horns to something doesnt make it ska

  • THANK YOU! I get into a lot of arguments over that.

  • pr0

  • Limewire told me that lol

  • its a song from goldfinger.

  • es mas jazzy k ska, no?

  • it has a bit of ska to it, but it feels more latin jazz or possibly funk.

  • ska uses instruments for Latin feel, and the super mario bros theme already was ment for that, so no difference.

  • this is kinda cool not really ska but still alright

  • Funk jazz to be more precise.

  • This is Jazz, ska is most speed

  • not necessarily, but theres no off beat and that is what ska is built on, the off beat of the guitar

  • I think the theme really suits this type of music.

  • doyng! doyng!

  • no upbeat for guitar, not exactly ska. ska style drums, sure, so i can understand why someone could try arguing that it is ska. but no. sorry.

  • somehow when a songs gets turned into a ska version, it gets more life and soul haha...

  • lol thats ska for u

  • the band playing this is Mr. Bungle, BTW.

  • ska it is most definately.

Ska has emphasis on the off-beat. This pretty much like the original just with some different instruments.

  • whoops disregard the first sentence i meant "ska it is most definately not."

    Sorry.

  • this isn't ska, just because a song has trumpet does not make it ska

  • doubt this is ska

  • definatly not ska homies

  • this is by the band reel big fish

  • No it isn't.

  • its mr.bungle. or bugle. i think the first one. but yeah not reel big fish. horns are wwaaayyyy different.

  • haha ,arop

  • este cancion, Quien es la artista y que es el nombre de la cancion?

  • Where do you download this music ?

  • has nothin ska in it

  • I know, it's so annoying when people think anything with a trumpet is ska!

  • The band who done this play quite ska-ish music

well they claim they do anyway.

I think it might be a band called goldfinger not sure though, its on Limewire

  • Dude... I listen to Goldfinger. Ain't them.

  • definitly not goldfinger they have sme great ska songs i think its mr bungle

  • Mr Bungle!

  • Super Mario Rampage!

  • Thats very great, but to short!!!

  • this is ska

i dont know what people are talking about

    this is so cool though!

  • where's offbeat?

  • @Troll isnt it after-beat?

  • its decent.

but its not ska at all

  • wtf where video go !!!?!?!

  • ja ta chida

  • its kinda just a big band remix of mario brothers

  • I like it,

    but it's not ska

  • che bellino

  • its luigi you sonaffabitch

  • Awesome video!

  • NOT SKA AT ALL

  • Hey dude it's a ska medley from mr. Bungle! WAHOO!!

  • you're right

  • nice

  • oh dude, this ain't ska!

    ever heard about the offbeat?

  • it's called the "upstroke", and yes it is ska. it's called urb-ska. it emphasizes both the up and the downstroke. listen really really closely.

  • You know, when I was your age, they called urb-ska "Funk". Ha, kids these days.

  • i'm not sure if this is funk dude. i could be wrong though. isn't there supposed to be like slap-bass and that funk-guitar in it? it's tough to tell without vocals, but then again, who cares what genre it is.

p.s. i like funk too. anything with trumpets is awesome.

  • it not ska cuz you a sax to it lol it sucked

  • not sounds like ska 4 me

  • muy buena

  • Great!

  • WTF?
