  • RIP Michael Gough, you're in your Kingdom forever now.

  • RIP Michael Gough...it's amusing because I saw one of my comments down below that I wrote a year ago, stating how he's still alive...

  • Very cleverly done, nice work.

  • I brought the audio and I was wrong - I now think it would make an amazing graphic novel if it was done right, really vivid colours, etc especially if combined with the audio into a package.

  • Oh that looks absolutely fabulous. I wish it was available in its entirety (is that a word?)

  • This looks like a pretty cool story...btw, wouldn't if have been cool if Michael Gough reprised the Toymaker with a later Doctor? Perhaps if they used him instead of Omega in season 20 :)

  • They were planning to bring him back in the original season 23, until Michael Grade stuck his oar in. :(

  • You know, Michael Gough *is* still alive. Just sayin' :)

  • @fivebearrugs is he the toymaker or the assistant?

  • @OmegaShenron6574 Michael Gough? He's the Toymaker... Michael Gough would also guest star in 1983's Arc of Infinity. I know him best as Alfred from the Batman movies :)

  • @fivebearrugs my god you're right it is alfred

  • @OmegaShenron6574 LOL He was also the Dodo in the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland...and also appeared in Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow...

  • I actually watched this when it was first broadcast! It's always been my favourite story, and I'm still hoping there will be a copy of the complete series turn up in Outer Mongolia or Peru one day... There was a lot of controversy at the time because The Celestial Toymaker was said to be a rip-off of Billy Bunter. The BBC denied it - with as much honesty as Tiger Woods saying stories of him with other women weren't true! Please look for the complete 4 episodes, fans!

  • The Toymaker looks like Leonard Nimoy!

  • This one does look really well suited for animating (not to take away from what it was on film) but it's probably down the list after the Tenth Planet and The Ice Warriors. Must get Lost in Time soon - thanks for pointing out what's on it.

  • Wow I wish I could watch the first 3 episodes as well because episode 4 is amazing! That's Michael Gough as the Toymaker. He's on 'Ark of Infinaty' and that 'Let Him Have It' film - still a brilliant actor today!

  • I hope that Steven Moffat takes a look back at the old stories and decides to bring Michael Gough back as The Celestial Toymaker for next year's Christmas special!

  • he's getting old now,he's in his 90's i think. i'm really sorry to say,but i don't think he'll be with us for too long :(

  • Gough was Counceller Hedin In Peter Davison's 'Arc Of Infinity', what a great story that was (Why he had to be working for Omega I don't know)

  • I iwish somone would put the entire recon up for us to see!

  • Nice trailer.

  • great trailer 2234dw

but does anybody know if this ep is on youtube so i could watch it

    thanks

  • Nope. You won't be able to see it at all because the first three episodes are missing from the bbc archives. You can find a vhs with reconstructions of the first three episodes using photos and the original soundtrack. Its a shame really.

  • Animated versions of some stories now exist, which in some cases are more watchable than the telesnap reconstructions. The disadvantage being that less original material is used, as you're not using actual photos.

  • Michael Gough, he was not only a brilliant villain in Herb Lom's version of"Phantom of the Opera", he was a damn fine Doctor Who villain too.

  • And everyone knows him as Alfred in the 90s batman movies.

  • Oh sure, but he has done so many other great parts ;D

  • Not to be confused with Michael Gough, the American voice actor. Famed to me as the guy from Resident Evil 4. Osmund Saddler (not Oswell Spencer)

  • True.

  • Comment removed

  • was the fat person at the begining supposed to be Billy Bunter???

  • Sort of. The fat person is called Cyril, but he is supposed to be like Billy Bunter. The BBC had to issue a statement saying Cyril was meant to just be like Bunter, not be him.

  • LOL seriously?! oh shit! :D

  • yes he did he also played alfred

  • The actor who played the Toymaker also appeared as a Timelord in the "Arc of Infinity" in the 80s. I think he also appeared in the Batman movies in the 90s.

  • the only surviving episode: part 4 is a must see for any Dr Who fan. Its available on the dvd box set "Lost in Time".

  • Part 3 is the surviving episode. NOT Part 4.

  • Ok, I just came back here to correct myself. Part 4 is the only episode remaining. Sorry.

  • Ok but part 4 is now available

  • u have gotten better with ur trailers nice job

  • How did you get the clip at the start? Also, could you make a trailer for The Moonbase using existing footage?

  • Thanks for commenting :)

The clip at the start is taken from the recap of Episode 3 at the beginning of The Final Test and I've just cut it a bit to fit in with the dialogue from the missing section (As far as I can tell the scene was rerecorded slightly for the last episode).

I will definetly get round to The Moonbase at one point.

At the moment am in the middle of editing 10 episodes down into two 40 second trailers for The War Games.

Anything will be a relief after that.... lol

  • try to do a new series one

  • Brilliant ;)

  • This trailer is awesome. Can't wait for your War Games trailer.
