@AQDeathstar Geordie Shore. East Enders. Emmerdale. Etc.. And @Tomazimon The only conundrum I can see is how you actually manage to dress yourself, and turn on a computer.

@abstractheory You can't believe that, or you would not be demonstrating how worthless at trolling you are. See what I did there? That is a "conundrum".
Stewart Lee brought me here, because I have no clue what this show is. See, you'll have to forgive me, I'm from America will the quality programming comes from.
Which bunch of muppets keep saying 'it wasn't supposed to happen'? It was in the script that John Sullivan (masterfully) wrote. The fact it comes across as an on-the-hoof scene is down the David Jason's spot delivery and timing of the physical gag.
Ha ha. It's a classic scene. But for foreign people it's not so funny. Most of the Fools and Horses humour is good because of the long back stories of all the characters. It's all character driven humour. This is visually funny but the real humour is that it's happening to Del and the reaction from Trigger. If you don't know those characters, then it's just simple slapstick.
@formidable38 you're right, its funny now that i know about the interest of a american network on this video. popular=funny, i get it now. SNL is SOOOO funny!
hahaha what a ture golden comedy who could not like this this is pure comedy you can't get any comedy like this anymore and i don't think we ever will
Wrong. It isn't funny. This being classed as a "classic" piece of comedy is a testament to the fact half of this country (Britain) has it's head firmly placed up its ass.
Give me intelligent comedy over this drivel any day. Give me Monty Python.
@ryanlovescharlie No Im not, I'm a person & It's "you're". Unless you're saying I own "AMUG" which is the "Arizona Macintosh Users Group" which I most certainly do not and If that was what you were implying, frankly I'm offended. I'm clearly a PC, what with my excessive use of intelligence and all that.
I wish you all the best in brushing up YOUR English skills. :)
@Deathtez88 Why is it always voted the funniest scene in british TV, why is the programme one of the top comedies ever made?
You said intelligent comedy, so why did you mention Monty Python....even the creators of Python, Idle, Cleese etc said they wasnt funny, but more stupid than anything and wondered why the british public found them funny.......stupidity, not intelligence
@snico I was thinking more about "Life of Brian" as a pinnacle of great British comedy, Though thinking about it satire and sitcom are two different beasts and it was wrong of me to compare the two.
British Sitcoms do nothing for me, some American ones do but most of them are pretty poor in my opinion. I prefer my comedy dry and witty and clever as mentioned, so satire is my comedy style of choice.
@snico - because this is very apealing to teenagers and everybody has great memories of programmes they watched at that age..... same for music, i ain't a big fan of the beetles but you'll find most people in their 50's are!
@jessebrown1996 Good drugs. Have you even heard of Monty Python? At the age of 14 (Im going with that since you have 1996 in your name, Im probably wrong and dont care but its all I have) I doubt you have.
@jessebrown1996 I stand corrected. Actually I never said nor implied Only Fools was rubbish, I was simply stating that in my opinion (in a rather beastly manner I'll admit and I'll apologise for) this scene is overrated. That's what it boils down to.
The way I put my opinion was wrong and offensive and I apologise to those who were. I didn't realise the Internet had so many... weaklings of both an intellectual and emotional, possibly physical but that doesn't matter, manner.
that was one of the funniest moments in comedy history!!!!!!!!! the first time i saw that a few yrs ago i laughed for at least 1 hr!! i probably got a 6pack from watching this show with all the laughter!!l lol
yeah but what does that prove?you cant read or take in basic info without having it explained to u,so the fact you didnt see any other child at the rehearsal means nothing coming from a stupid person, besides that ,i have looked at your profile seeing as you took time out on mine ,you are obviously a teenager judging by your music taste(which is shite) so you would have been a spunk bubble at the time of the taping! instead of the spunk stain status you have now!
No it wasn't an accident. However it was not rehearsed in front of the studio audience so as not to spoil the moment. And it was completed in one take.
how you can say obviously ill never know, you dont even know who i am ! i could be the directors god son for all you know, you are OBVIOUSLY ignorant, that works because its fact based on what you write.
you may as well just admitt you're lying, i could probe and lead you to having to spend ages googling answers. For starters the show had multiple directors over the many years it aired (which one are you related to then? lol ) and this particular episode was over 20 years ago when it originally aired. I am far from ignorant, infact i think you'll find it's a very bad idea to try arguing with me.
i dont have to admit anything to you or anybody, you could probe me but if you think i deem you important enough to spend hours googling is mind boggling, read my comment i said i COULD be the directors godson ,im not but for all you know i could be as you dont know me,and as for it airing 20 years ago, you dont know how old i am ,you havent got a clue,i hate it when people say things like "it's a very bad idea to try arguing with me."as if you are some sort of legendary figure to fear, embarresing
well you replied to me, so clearly i must be important enough. Oh and let me try take a lucky guess at your age...hm...34? lol you might want to realise that your age appears on your channel page unless ofcourse you picked an incorrect date of birth when signing up to this site. You just admitted you're not the grandson of one of the directors....so what exactly would a 12 - 14 year old kid be doing on set of OFAH during a rehearsal?
ok lets look at it -if that was my age which it isnt ,its very comon for 12-14 yr olds to be at pg tv tapings, why wouldnt it be ? i never mentioned anything about being a grandson anywhere! please read b4 arguing a point,it helps!im not as a legend like yourself so its probably best not to argue with such an intellectual person(who cant read).just in case you are wondering my name isnt mcjeff either ,people do tend not to give real info out on profiles, its normal
i imagined it conveniently wasn't going to be you're real age, ofcourse its far more likely for someone who is older to of given their real age, meaning you're more than likely younger than 34, making it even more less likely that you were on set. I don't imagine many 9 - 10 year olds (or under) watched OFAH. Oh and yes i clearly meant godson, but its irrelevant, my point still stands. Oh by the way i was on set during the rehearsal too and don't recall seeing another kid there.
oh and you ar righ about not having to admitt anything, because it's already more than apparant its a lie...well it was more than apparant at the time you posted the original comment, just a classic case of trying to add substance to your point by making up a lie.
as i have already said(keep up )i never said i was a godson either,i said i might be ,my point being you dont know who i am,i could be david fuckin jason for all your dumbass knows! i thought you were good at arguing ? you cant even read,i have to explain it twice to you b4 it goes in.try and keep up with the pace!
except you aren't and you were never at the rehearsal, so why claim you were? , in your first original comment you never stated you might of been at the rehearsal, you stated you WERE at the rehearsal....but seeing as we're playing 'make believe' i was there too and don't recall seing you
I lve the way trig does a full circle ha ha, And the bit "nah you're crampin ma style mate, crampin ma style" would be better if you included that bit rather than the crappy slo- mo
Thats nonsense. David Jason explained this scene on tv and the producer said that they had to do numerous takes of this scene to get Del's fall absolutely straight as your normal reaction is to move your arm whilst falling.
Del Boy falling through the bar - I always laugh with tears running down my face at this. Really, really funny classic moment from David Jason! Ha ha ha!!
new episode coming out of del as ayoung guy, set in the 60's, who will play him??? danny dyer i dunno, should be great, i always wanted to see a pre only fools and horses and he often speaks of the 60's like he wished he was back there with he's mother etc. should be great. rodney is meant to be like 1 or 2 years old in this remake.
yeah maybe, she should. also i dont really watch eastenders, but that arguementative woman who has a shine for phil mitchell, the blonde woman, if they changed her hair style and loosened her up a bit she could play a great part, she would easily be a peckam native of the 60's. you cant have anyone too famous, or they will be the focus of the show, and everyone will be looking how they fit the part, and not about the story, from which i heard is going to be very clever.
well del is meant to be around 16-18 or 19 years old in this i think, so theres nothing to say the actor to play trigger cant be around any of those age brackets, robin brockway could be a potential trigger i think. he looks young, and if he has a jacket a size or two too big, it could take an extra year or two of him on front of camera. apart from him, i cant think of any of the top of my head. it will be hard to cast, but there is people there who will focus solely on the potential roles.
sorry, right, but this is NOT FUNNY AT ALL. Hes FALLING OVER. Has comedy not evolved from the primative kids rubbish we watched when were were 5? Apparently not. Its NOT FUNNY. DO YOU SEE?
gearoiddefaoite, the actual idea is very old and cliched, but the way it is performed makes it brilliant! Watch his face as he falls down, and his expression when he stands back up! It's the performance that makes this so funny!
@AQDeathstar Geordie Shore. East Enders. Emmerdale. Etc.. And @Tomazimon The only conundrum I can see is how you actually manage to dress yourself, and turn on a computer.

rodney will be in it, as he's real father, the crook, who del bel tells rodney about.
arsenal123454 2 years ago
new episode coming out of del as ayoung guy, set in the 60's, who will play him??? danny dyer i dunno, should be great, i always wanted to see a pre only fools and horses and he often speaks of the 60's like he wished he was back there with he's mother etc. should be great. rodney is meant to be like 1 or 2 years old in this remake.
arsenal123454 2 years ago
olive from on the buses shuld play his mother
joevacane 2 years ago
yeah maybe, she should. also i dont really watch eastenders, but that arguementative woman who has a shine for phil mitchell, the blonde woman, if they changed her hair style and loosened her up a bit she could play a great part, she would easily be a peckam native of the 60's. you cant have anyone too famous, or they will be the focus of the show, and everyone will be looking how they fit the part, and not about the story, from which i heard is going to be very clever.
arsenal123454 2 years ago
shirley carter, portrayed by linda henry.
i wonder who will play trigger. it will be difficult to find a child with the face of trigger.
joevacane 2 years ago
well del is meant to be around 16-18 or 19 years old in this i think, so theres nothing to say the actor to play trigger cant be around any of those age brackets, robin brockway could be a potential trigger i think. he looks young, and if he has a jacket a size or two too big, it could take an extra year or two of him on front of camera. apart from him, i cant think of any of the top of my head. it will be hard to cast, but there is people there who will focus solely on the potential roles.

sorry, right, but this is NOT FUNNY AT ALL. Hes FALLING OVER. Has comedy not evolved from the primative kids rubbish we watched when were were 5? Apparently not. Its NOT FUNNY. DO YOU SEE?

How is it not funny!! It's del boy Falling through the bar, on only fools and horses.

That is my all time fave moment!!!! Absolute classic!!!!
Obviuously RichoRosai has no sense of humour!!!
oldthrashhead 2 years ago
gearoiddefaoite, the actual idea is very old and cliched, but the way it is performed makes it brilliant! Watch his face as he falls down, and his expression when he stands back up! It's the performance that makes this so funny!
