I have the exact same problem, I would set down something and the next it's gone. I've been scratched, pushed, I've seen oppressions, and my covers on my bed would move, and I would here ppl talking and foot steps and when I look no one was their. It is creepy. :s
Hearing footsteps in the middle of the night in your attic when you know for a fact that nobody is up there is certainly terrifying! I experienced this same thing in a house I lived in as a kid and it was scary as hell.
