Transitioning doesn't cause personality changes, because life itself is a personal-changing experience for everyone Cis & Trans alike, even for animals.

What people think of a transgender as of personality-change is in fact a "personality-release", because most pre-transitioners lived very limited from communion experiences due to the fact that they weren't able to identify or sympathy with the current normal standards of male & female.

My attitude on friends and transitioning is that if people are not willing to accept me for who I am, than they aren't my friends and never were. I also apply this to members of my own family.

I agree that it's a fantastic test to see who your real friends are... When I tell people about it, I simply put it out there and then watch for fallout; it's the ultimate litmus test for friends and family!
