i have a nokia n95 and the nokia maps 2 but i have so much hassle getting a gps fix. i want to find out where i am without connecting to the net whats the best way? google maps works great but im not shelling out for large gprs bills.

any suggestions?

Shouldn't cost you anything. Assisted GPS only uses a few hundred *bytes*.

why does nokia maps take 5 times longer than google maps to track me down?

It shouldn't, if the Assisted GPS is all working....

I guess it's because Google Maps is using the cell towers to find your position, which is faster than using GPS. It is, however, more inacurate that using the Gps.

If you press 0 in Google Maps it uses the cell towers to find your position at fist, and then activates the gps (you might hav eto press 0 again) to give the exact position.

Nokia Maps only uses Gps (assisted if you have activated it)

Great show. its my favorite cell phones show. im getting a nokia n82 at the end of this month. this position art looks cool i will try and make something when i get my phone.
