  • Wow amazing!!! Once in a lifetime event!

  • Cryptozoology novel about two boys who find something strange on the beach one night see video book trailer

  • I hope it grows big and healthy.

  • at the beginning of the video it looks like one of those floating soul things from avatar

  • a fully grown oar fish can reach up to 30 meters or so, i saw 1 in korea at the aquarium, i can remember the exact length .. but the few ones that live longer than others are estimated half a kilometer ... but no one knows what they eat ...

  • @AwesomeAnimeArtist They can't get 500 meters long, if you think that you're a fucking moron.

  • is it just ahachling becouse i though oarfish were much bigger

  • It's adorable! xD

  • @odorobou till it grows 25ft and whips your ass into next year

  • That thing can grow up to over 30 feet.

  • LVL1 GYARADOS

  • amazing!

  • that is insane such a wee lil dragon

  • Imagine that tiny thing getting over 50 feet long!

  • w0w0w0w0w0w0w0w0w!!!!

  • wow something that small turns into something that big.

  • wow guy this is awesome rare

  • that is a reeeeally small oarfish. :)

  • Counterfeit Fish!

  • Counterfish?

  • That not an oarfish its a baby flying fish ive seen them I LIVE IN FLORIDA!!!!

  • Actually that is a baby oarfish, I think maybe towards the end you might be mistaking it as a flying fish possibly but it's not thats exactly what an oarfish looks like. If you don't believe me google both of them and find the difference and similarities.

  • Well then you might want to take a swim because it is a juvenile oarfish.

  • He lives in Florida. He must know what the fuck he's talking about, guys. LOL

  • you lucky lucky thing!!

  • man... that lil' bugger could grow up to be 11m long :)

  • Seeing this kind of fascinating marine life creatures is enough for me, No need to catch it :)

  • omg! i would love to take care of those

  • Looks like a juvenile oarfish

  • never mind my last comment i google'd it and i guess it does look like one

  • Beautiful :]

And what's wrong with you people? Catching it to make a quick buck? You sicken me.

  • ha if he wouldve caught that bitch he woulda been rich, but al my morals say not to...

  • you get hell if you dont catch it and hell if you do

  • shoulda cought it and sold it on ebay lol

  • wouldnt an aquarium pay top doller for one of them there really rare arent they

  • the aquarium would probably kill it. when they grow up they are deep see fish that feed on plankton and krill.

we hardly know anything about them, when they need to feed, how much, if they're sick.

hehe one time back home the maui ocean center got a mahi mahi and put it in the big tank (which happens to have tiger sharks)

thing didn't last the first night. =P

  • @RogueChinchilla I live in oahu... our aquarium sucks...

  • wow so cute! i wish i had one but the tank must be like...i dunno 10 meters?

  • it looks like a plastic toy

  • why didnt you catch that mofucka?????????

  • yo thats flipin amazing

  • WOW!!! LUCKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYy

  • Rare vid is right!

It looks so cute now, but someday, it will scare the crap out of deep divers!

  • a rare vid - thks !

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • cute :)

  • Definitely an Oarfish, my cheap camara does not do the 4 inch long oarfish any justice. A good friend has 3 small Oarfish on video(with a professional camara) and he with with me in the water that day , and confirmed the fish as an Oarfish.

I need to get a better camera.

  • ask him to upload it! no matter wich fish it is, it's a really beutiful fish

  • It is really cool

    But I think it's a Ribbonfish(Trachipterus trachypterus)

  • It does look like a ribbonfish "larvae", but I suppose young oarfish look similar?

  • Same fish, different terms, Oarfish=ribbonfish

  • Very cool and rare
